3 things

1. Melbourne will finish bottom 2 under P.Roos next year, he has to be willing to put 5 years into that club before he gets finals success, the bloke isn't the messiah, nobody could get Melbourne in the finals under 5 years

2.Sacking Voss was only acceptable if Roos was given the job, I now don't care who coaches us, our players will drive us forward, we just need some bloody stability! We had it, now it is gone! Give Harves the bloody job if need be!~

3.Our board has botched this, I want to hear from them what exactly were the reasons for sacking Voss!

Had a little to drink and just sent this to angus

Angus,

With all due respect, Paul Roos has indicated he will not coach our team next year, I am gutted at the fact you sacked Vossy without having Roos in the bag. I think it is time for you to list the reasons as to why you sacked Vossy. You have lost the supporters of our great club, you need to front up and tell us why Voss was sacked! Forget about the line "I can't share that information out of respect for Vossÿ." The club is bigger than the individual and at the moment you are destroying the fabric of our great club!

Michael

Do you think the panel which will decide on the next senior coach would consider Voss due to the change in circumstances (Roos and Eade pulling out etc)?

Could be reasoned ala the board made an erroneous lack of judgment - heads would have to roll of course.

Would Vossy want to come back??

Player's remain unsigned, board split down the middle and coaching candidates running for the hills.
Geez some good news would be nice, I liked the idea of Simpson and would be happy with his appointment but I am really warming to the idea of Tudor

Your glasses. I'm told he baulked at your glasses.

"Look, I can't coach a side that has supporters like that," he said. "When I first got to the Swans, we had lots of people wearing stupid glasses, but Goodesy and Hally" etc, etc, etc... CBF impersonating him anymore to be honest. Will be shattered if he coaches the Dees and not us.

I also read the article that suggested 84% of top-tier AFL coaches prefer supporters who wear Viking paraphernalia and ride horses but not leather jacket wearing musicians with oversized green glasses; as opposed to supporters who have both.

I just think it was a really long winded survey and I don't buy how accurate its data is.

They'll be looking at experienced assistants, as the chances of picking up a high-profile coach are slim. Leigh Tudor, Adam Simpson, Brendon Bolton etc. they'll all considered you'd think. In terms of experience, Simpson would be the man.

Not sure if Lappin is keen on the job - we wouldn't look twice if he was interested.

Sorry to intrude but I'm just curious why both you guys and Melbourne supporters are hell bent on Paul Roos.

He's done an excellent job with Sydney and all but there's a proven coach available that has achieved the exact same thing Roos has achieved.

Mark Williams has a 55% win% as coach, has been to two Grand Finals (both are same as Roos), and unlike Roos has remained in the AFL coaching system, where it's obvious that GWS' midfield structure has gotten worse this year in comparison to last year and that he's done a helluva job at Richmond.

Still think that a guy that's "50/50" after months of saying that he is not interested is not coming back to coaching with a huge amount of passion. Cash will bring him back but I think his return to coaching will be unspectacular in terms of results.

I actually think a lot of the festivities are based on the way that our board went after him and the confidence that they displayed with their negotiations. You're dead right, he's not the absolute best option.

Would absolutely love Choco! And I think most Lions supporters would as well. The reports of the relationships he has built with Richmond players already are very encouraging

I think Choco will be at the top of the list along with Woosha should he choose to leave the eagles. Mathew Knights would also be on the clubs radar. Blake Caracella could also be a smokey as part of a succession plan.

Just please Angus do not chase Mumbles Craig or Mark Neeld

I dont think anyone but Clarkson or Roos would be a definite upgrade on what we had. Neither of those will happen so something where someone like Williams or Craig is supporting an up and comer seems to be what we're looking at.

A few on here are ok with Eade and Williams but not Craig? Craig had a lot of good years at Adelaide and off the top of my head a few top 4 finishes. It looked like he lost the players in his last 2 seasons so it was time to move on.

Ok please, NO to Simpson, Tudor or any other inexperienced coach. We need a good man manager who can develop our players further. Hey I'd love Sheeds for a year or two to groom an assistant, much like at GWS. We have to go for the only premiership coach in the market....Choco Williams.

Steady, word is Carlton don't want to miss out on Roos again....
