Why isn't there a player revolt?

They have evidence they were injected with Tb4 , do you think that the cases contained evidence to nail Hird, or do you think ASADA may keep that in reserve in case they decide to go after him at a later date
They have the evidence against dank including full witness statements by charter, Alavi, GL biochem, fricker et al.

There is no other evidence

You have no idea if that is true or not. There still could be heaps of evidence available that could implicate Hird that has nothing to do with the players or Danks case.

I am not saying there is but there is no way ASADA have handed over all the evidence they have

From the 'other' witness statements?

Well, here are the options...

1. Players found guilty. Coach sacked.
2. Players found not guilty. Coach remains
3. Players found guilty. Coach remains.

Only '3' would warrant a revolt, and really, if the club wont get rid of him then, then the players are unlikely to shift him anyway.

If '1' is going to happen, then stirring the pot now wont help anyone.

So 34 players were complicit in a doping scheme. 6 of them are at other clubs. 11 are retired, some forced in acrimonious circumstances.

NOT ONE HAS TURNED AGAINST HIRD.
So it seems, from the outside looking in.

And so, despite all the available evidence that the players were complicit with a program they knew was aiming to be "right on the edge"(sitting in meetings, telling media about what the aim of the program was, asking for the forms to confirm it was all safe), even though they've been dragged through this for 2 years they've not turned on the coach.

What does this tell you?

They were all in it together, and so they don't hold Hird anymore accountable than anyone else.

Meanwhile, those not locked into the regime, who are looking on from the outside in, can see that those in key roles of responsibility should be made to take responsibility for what happened.

tl:dr? Players, officials, club knew what the intent of the program was, they've been in it together from the start. There'll be no player revolt.

So you're saying that if 2 or 3 happens then you're happy that Hird wasn't as involved as clothier tried to make out?

Nah if 3 happens, then it's because EFCs board is too gutless to sack him.

hey andrewb

Do you think is Hirdy is a straight up guy, as honest as the day is long?

Good thread BTW
I think Hird has told some white lies, but no more than androuska, demetriou, clothier, Lundy or Gil.

Certainly no where near as many as Alavi, charter, dank and robinson.

It must be just a startling co-incidence that not one player has come out against Hird.

That's at least 34 coincidences.

So you're saying that if 2 or 3 happens then you're happy that Hird wasn't as involved as clothier tried to make out?

Hird was involved in the meeting with Dank and Robinson, Hird was involved in the meeting with the convicted Drug dealer, Hird was involved in the approval process of each supplement and Thymosin was allowed even though it had not received the agreed approval process. Hird also wanted to push the boundaries.

The fact those boundaries were breached falls on him.People can say that he was not in the chain of command for Dank & Robinson but anyone who believes that does not have a brain in their head.

Benita Lalor was researching on behalf of heard and HE got his way when she did not play along and REID addressed his letter to Hird.

Hird was the man and he should have been sacked 2 years ago

so you obviously think the players are innocent victims, were unaware the substances were banned, and had no intention of cheating

What I have always believed mxett, and you know it well, is that the burden of responsibility is different for a doping case and a civil case. In the doping case the players are ultimately responsible, unaware or not, and will be banned. In a work place H&S case, let's just say your club is up the shit creek without a paddle.
