I'm not sure where today has come from. I watched the show live last night and this is what I got from it...

Jobe signed a consent form that had AOD-9604 on it and believed it to be legal. He ASSUMED that he was administered AOD-9604 because that's the supplement he signed.

How on earth is Jobe supposed to know what he has been given? Is he a sports scientist? He is payed to play football, not to worry about injections. That's for the people who are payed to operate in that field. A key element of a successful club is trust from the president down to the cleaner lady, and that's exactly what Jobe was doing.

He said he assumed that's what he took, but didn't Stevie J assume the rest of the game was a mere formality when he did that bet with Jonathan Brown? In footy, you can't pick the exact result of a game unless it's fixed, and that is the same with a lot of things in life. Jobe can't assume anything other than he was given what he signed for.

Let's wait until this ASADA investigation ends, before we wrongly accuse people of being drug cheats. Let's not assume a result, on what someone assumes happened...

But what's to say Jobe took the drug?
"I signed the consent form"
"I was receiving AOD yea..."
"I thought it was legal at the time, thats what I was told yea."
"It was a new frontier for us, the experience of having that many injections was something that i'd never experienced in football before"

The issue is whether or not it will be waived as a banned substance.

Essendon seem confident that it will be cleared.

If they are confident on this (heroic, as ASADA and WADA don't agree), why was their position until yesterday that they don't concede these supplements were given?

So what are you suggesting?

That Essendon got him to sign a consent form to take a prohibited substance and then switched it for a legal one without him knowing?
Not that they swapped it for a new supplement, because they wouldn't be able to because of the consent form, but just removed or ordered but not injected.

And sorry guys, can we get it moved Fred or whoever does it?

Well straight from the horse's mouth:
"My understanding after it being given through Bruce Reid and the club is that I was receiving AOD, yes,"

Of course, according OP we must also account for the quantum possibility that whatever was in the syringe spontaneously converted to saline water just before injection. In other words Jobe's all clean.

That's his understanding, however he wouldn't be organizing all of it with Dank and whoever else was involved.

There isn't anything to say that Jobe Definately took AOD
Except for the fact that last night he said "I was receiving AOD, yea"

And no it wasn't receiving as in they gave him a bottle of it to keep under his pillow, it's receiving as in put into him.

That wasn't their position. Their position was that nothing banned was taken. Which is true if AOD is ruled as non-banned.

OK, fair point. But isn't it pretty simple: anything that's not on the approved list is banned under the catch-all?

Will be interesting to hear the basis of the argument, but if said argument is as strong as the ongoing bravado suggests, why didn't they come clean about AOD ages ago and present their argument publicly? If it's correct, what's to lose? The way they've gone about it simply invites suspicion.

Unfortunately for Essendon, lack of knowledge is no excuse.
Or every sporting club in the world would be feigning ignorance.

Demons had got away with tanking for years, until a frank discussion with Brock OTC.

Not sure Demetriou would of been pleased with the public admission.

What was with his sudden openness? He was non existent in the preseason, a bit more open since the Freo win though still tight lipped on the actual events, now he decides to have a chat?

I found it strange.

"Yeah, I took anabolic steroids Mr. Weightlifting Drug Test man.... BUT!.... but!.. There's a chance my coach knew and swapped it out for a mixture of wizz fizz and 7up"

How would Dank know for sure? Maybe the nurse swapped it?
How would the nurse know for sure? Maybe the tube was mislabeled?
etc etc etc...
Well in a way, that's the thing. No one knows, so let's not bite off anyone's head.

Can I add I was also suprised at Jobe's openess. But he didn't actually say he Definately took illegal drugs

If you wan't to spin it that way sure he could of been given saline instead, but he was under the impression that he was being given AOD and he didn't object.

People still go to gaol for crimes that noone physically saw them committing if theres enough substantiating evidence (like a confession straight from the accused's mouth).

That's basically what saying he signed a waiver to be given AOD and believed he was being given it does.

It's on Essendon to somehow prove the injections weren't AOD if they wan't to avoid that charge, it's no longer up to the drug organisation's to prove it because they have admittance from Watson.
