Im dead certain I saw Winders break away from half back in the third or fourth quarter. Did alright if he was carrying an injury. Stanton has never looked like he's recovered from his injury, so the off season has come at the right time for him. Hope they bring in Peverill to run with Cousins...wouldnt mind seeing how he copes with who I believe is the best 'gut runner' in the league.

Well he went of early at training on a friday two weeks ago and has played much midfield since so you work out if he is carrying a niggle ;)
Yes he had one run through the middle from half back but he usually has 4 or 5 of them in a game.
He is carrying an injury.

No thanks. Why not throw Reimers, Hocking onto Cous..... Let them get a taste of how hard Cousins works during a game. They might only last 10 mins, but at least they would know what is required to play in the midfield.

Peverill is dead wood. Won't be at the club next year.

Bullen would be spewing, had a poster of Cousins up on his bedroom wall. Sheeds wanted him to base his game around him. Don't think he ever came close.

I Think at least 12 people must go at years end.

Mark Johnson -too old and slow

Jobe Watson - too slow

Damien Peverill - too slow and old

Jason Johnson - slow

Kepler Bradley - just a dud

Scott Camporreale - Slow and turns ball over too much

David Hille - too top heavy and isnt a ruckmen, the only way he is going to stay if the new coach plays him out at CHF and Lucas down at CHB and play Laycock and Ryder in the ruck

Courtney Johns - Cant play..

Mark Bolton - Terrible all round

Chris Heffernan - has given nothing since coming back

Richard Cole - hopeless

Andrew Lee - hasnt been given a go so obvisouley not good enough..

All those players should be gone at the end of the year. I dont care if we finish last on the ladder but at least we will get rid of these guys who are costing us games.

If you were a die hard essendon supporter you would agree with me. Well Done Richmond, you did beat us but you guys are still just as bad which makes it worse for us because we lost to u.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:[/quote]

I don't think A.Welsh should go BUT his decision making and skills under pressure are ordinary. AND... why, oh why is he the go-to man on the end of so many short kicks?
Because the opposition know that they will probably get it back every now and then if they leave him unattended.
Next time you check his stats and think he went OK remember where he got most of them.

I can't believe i'm even justifying this dribble with a response. Obviously the schools turn their web filters off after 4pm.

Watson - who cares if he's slow. He is an inside midfielder.
Bradley - has always been played out of position. Is doing well at VFL.
Campo - slow yes, is one of the better disposers of the football at our club.
Lee - has been injured for a lot of his career.
Bolton - has good endevour and fitness (should be delisted though)
Johns - will likely be at Essendon next year.

If I was coach of Essendon next year I would delist and look to trade the following players.

Delist.

Dyson - Has had a fair crack at it. Not good enough.
Cole - Struggled with injury and form. Hasn't impressed when selected.
Bolton - Enough said.
Heffernan - Can't get a game in our current midfield.
Peverill - Can't knock his courage or commitment. Unfortunately has too many turnovers by foot. Gets it plenty of times, but his disposals don't hurt the opposition.
Lonergan - 1 game in two years, is a slow start to his AFL career. Again with our current midfield should've at least played 1 game this year. Has been unlucky with injury, won't be enough to save him.
McKinnon (rookie) - One word. Useless.

Retire

MJ - I hope he just retires. It would be to tough a decision to delist or trade him. Has been a fantastic team and loyal player.
JJ - Same as MJ. Surely EFC can pay out his final year of his contract.
Campo - Bad way to go out. He is not that quick anymore, his body is not as durable as it once was.
Hirdy - We will miss you.

Trade

Bradley and Stanton - I'd look to trade Kepler, been a bit stiff being in direct competition with Lucas, Lloyd, Hird, Gumby and even Michael, Fletcher. Might flourish at another club where KPP are lacking. Bulldogs is the most obvious one. Bradley for ?????
Stanton see below.

Rookie Elevation

Rama - Does something that not many EFC players do. Hits targets and is a good decision maker.
Hocking - Shown enough. Wasn't bad against Carlton. Hope he doesn't go down the Ben Jolley path.

Stanton along with Peverill is woeful by foot, continues to butcher the ball.

What we need is some class in the midfield, someone who can hit Lloyd or Lucas on the chest, or at least kick to their advantage.

Despite people on here claiming that Stants kicking has approved, well it hasn't. For a AFL footballer it is disgraceful and at times insipid.
While he has a bit of currency, why not see what he is worth?

While Stanton has been pretty woeful since hurting his ankle, there's no way we should trade him. His kicking and overall performance was fine until he hurt himself. His biggest issue is he doesn't work hard enough defensively and has no accountability. He has to harden up and start running both ways.

The trouble with your plan is we would be replacing around half the players you suggested with the rabble in the bottom of this years draft.
Would be a much better idea to move on 7 or so this year and only take 4 picks in this draft and then move on more again next year but have 5 or 6 in next years draft which looks a little stronger.;)
