Of course it will be considered a choke.

Brisbane Lions are eerily similar to the Geelong team of the 90's but also have the solid back six. A handful of stars and then a big bunch of also-rans who just play their roles week in and week out.
Always good enough to finish top four. Usually the 3rd or 4th best side left in it.

Collingwood were leading West Coast by 2 points with less than 3 minutes remaining in the game in their last grand final appearance. They lost that and look at where the Eagles are today.
Another loss on Saturday would be devastating. Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Elliott, Mihocek, Adams, Howe are on the wrong side of 30.

Collywobble tag will be renamed to Dr. Collywobble if they lose this one.

28 degrees, will this be a factor, more so as the game goes on. It's going to be an intriguing game. The Lions don't have a great record at the G but I do think they are now primed. Beaten pies last 6 times and both times this year. Many are writing off the lions but don't know why, they are very balanced right across the park.

Who's going to kick their goals with McStay out and replaced by Frampton(lol)?

Who's going to dig deep in the contest with Adams out?

Brisbane's game to lose.

Lol, I do like how McStay has gone from the worst recruit of the year and waste of money to Tony Lockett in just 1 week.

Either the team is good enough to win on the day or they're not. We've lost a few that we shouldn't have, we've won a few we shouldn't have, we've walked into Grand Finals we never had any business winning. Collingwood just happens to be a very prolific club when it comes to making Grand Finals and that's sometimes to our detriment. But you gotta be in 'em to win 'em.

Whilst they’ve beaten us 6 times, most at their home ground where they’re undefeated this year, the last time Brisbane beat Collingwood at our home ground Richmond was still in their 37 year premiership drought!

Exactly. One gun and a number of system players who played their role effectively to the betterment of the team.
Yep..The pace of Hill..Lipinski, De Go, Elliot, one from useless Cox, Peter D’s two boys, Milochek, Noble, Shepparton old boy, Cameron and Howe if he goes forward..that’s enough to win.
Michall will probably score too

Luckily for Richmond, we went on to achieve a dynasty. Washed away that long drought.

I wouldn't take them lightly, seems pies supporters have this mindset cause the Lions haven't got a good record at the G they are feeling pretty confident. Sooner or later they will break that drought and could well be this Sat.

People carrying on as though Collingwood have never experienced hot weather before. It may play a tiny part but Collingwood's the fittest team in the competition. The weather will only become a factor if their are injuries and the bench rotations are limited.

Back? They never went away.

Don’t get it wrong: Collingwood were a bloody premiership powerhouse. They won 4 in a row. They won 6 in ten years between 1927 and 1936.

Unbelievable. They were truly “The Machine”, as they were known. The league was 40 years old and they had won 11 flags.

But since then, their record in GFs is…

4-2-18.

That’s why they’re the Collywobbles, and a single win or loss isn’t going to change it. Maybe another 10 wins will put it to bed.

Yet neither of those 2 losses were we the best side for the season.

In reality we haven’t lost a grand final we should have won since before 1990.
What about 2011? I think you were favourites in 2003 as well, after you belted the Lions in the qualifying final.

We were favourites in 2011, having beaten them twice during the season, had an easier finals run and Pies struggling with injuries to Jolly and Reid going into the GF.

Nah there are pies supporters out there who aren't as confident.

I remember being concerned in 2011 with our Geelong losses many a pies fans in those threads were dismissal of them and had excuses why it wasn't a concern. We all know how it ended.

I hope the team aren't thinking the MCG will do it for them....

Belted??

We were behind all game, and kicked the last 3 goals to win by 15 points.

We were slight favourites based on form, although having a look at the respective lineups the result is less surprising in hindsight.

And no, Geelong started the 2011 GF as favourites.

Best thing about Collingwood is that they are the best example of shutting up all the interstate team supporters whinging that they are disadvantaged by playing on the MCG: Collingwood love losing to intestate teams! They love blowing it on the MCG and express post the flag interstate at any opportunity. Oh wowee it’s going to be nice seeing this happen again tomorrow. And contrary to what others have said BT commentating will make it so much sweeter

If they lose it will be 1 win, 1 draw, and 5 losses this century.

They were the best team for most of the year, and really can't afford to let another one slip.

Having said, I'm thinking the Lions will be too strong.
7 grand finals! And they’ve made a third of all grand finals since 1897. Not a bad club to support really.

But like last century, they just struggle to win them. Until they get this century’s win/loss ratio above 0.500, I think the Colliwobbles are always there to be honest. They’ve got to prove they can not only make them on the regular, but they can convert them into premierships too like Melbourne and Hawthorn seem to do well.

The Collingwood grand final record of not only losing them, but losing them in heartbreaking fashion, is quite a story.
