With both teams having very similar colours, will the saints be forced into a clash strip next week? I hope that the AFL can come to some sort of an arrangement, be it with shorts/socks instead of using a clash jumper. I am sure that all saints fans would love to see the normal strip out there on Grand final day.

This is the problem I've had with clash strips from the start. If Melbourne make the Granny I want to see us out there in the Red & Blue, not the all white with the demon/pirate face on the front. I assume this is the same for all other clubs as well e.g. Carlton would want to be in their Navy Blues not the all-whites.

Why? It's not like they have any pics of a premiership captain in an 'Aints jumper anyway.

I'd love them to be in a clash strip on the off chance that they fluke a win. They still wouldn't have a pic of a captain in a proper jumper holding the cup up :D

Our clash jumper this year is now tri-colour with white back vs a tri-colour with black back for non-clash strip.

Will look fine for any pics or for playing in...and for watching the game.

Now if it been that horrid one we had last year..............

I understand that a clash strip on GF day is to be decided by a coin toss if needed so it could be either team.

But I don't think a clash strip is usually worn between these two.

That's such a stupid system. First choice should be given to the team that finished higher on the ladder. Then if the 2nd team clashes they should have to wear a clash strip.

If they've got a problem with that, tough shit. They should have finished higher on the ladder.

Well aren't you just a little ray of sunshine... Your post is almost as funny as the end of the handbaggers era of dominance....
It would have been nice if your boys tried to make a contest of it on Friday night.
At least the Finals sorted things out, and the two Best Teams got through to the GF.

LOL, so we might have to wear black on white, rather than white on black, or vice versa.

If in the unfortunate situation we lose and they happen to be wearing yellow, I guess thats some compensation.

Well at least you agree that wearing clash strips is no big deal.

But the point remains that the higher club should get first choice.

They wore the clash strip for memory. I think it was the one with the black cross on it??
Pretty sure that was our home jumper back then. Good jumper too.

Anyway surely Saints home and black shorts, Collingwood 'away' and white shorts is logical. That way both teams get to wear their traditional jumpers on the big day.

The Cats have had no problem wearing white shorts in previous years despite being the higher ranked team so hopefully the pies don't see it as a problem.
