Agreed, quality kid with enormous upside. It'll be very interesting to see which pick he is taken with.

Coached against this kid when he was 13 and couldn't stop him....at one stage had 4 kids play on him inside 50 and he still beat us off his own boot...freak!
Pretty negative tactics for the under 13's, isn't it? ;)

P.S. I believe he has groin issues.... plus he got into a fight in a nightclub...*

* I cannot guarantee the accuracy of these statements... I'm just hoping he slips through to the Tigers @ pick 10-12... it worked for Heppell and Darling, so you can't blame me for trying!

lol his not old enough to go night clubs yet and he doesn't go anyway.... and his not having groin issues but he is a bit injury prone but his fine at the moment so those statements are completely inaccurate

I don't know that Hoskin-Elliott will be there for the Tigers at pick 10/11/12 wherever we end up, but it would be nice. Just want to do my bit to try to make it happen, and if that means starting some unsubstantiated rumours, then so be it! :D

Footscray to pick up Will with their compensation picks from the deal they get out of Ward going to GWS they will use this to select Hoskin-Elliott

How... all first round compensation picks (mid or end of) will be taken at the end of the first round at this years draft. Also the Dogs will get pick #14 when they beat Freo this week at the least so I don't see how WHE could get past Brisbane, Adelaide or even GWS for that matter. Don't see it happening sorry.

Can anyone write out a bit of a profile on this guy? Everyones raving about him but no one's really talking about what he's good at or who he plays like ect.

Plenty of good write ups from the phantom draft section.

These should give you enough to gauge what type of player he is.

# 7 - GWS
Will Hoskin-Elliott (Western Jets)
182 / 73 / 93

Why: Was one of the kids that I was super keen on at the start of the year and has all the hallmarks of what recruiters like. 6ft midfielders, quick, agile, keep their feet in traffic, clean and good decison maker. Thats WHE and if it sounds like a wingmen from WCE many years ago then I would probably agree. He has that some sort of low to the ground feature that allows him to move through traffic at speed and then execute pretty cleanly. I can honestly see this bloke patrolling the wings of ES or MCG or Showgrounds. Has played fwd earlier in the career but more recently played in the middle and I think will settle in any midfield or flank type role. On draft day I wouldnt be surprised if he goes higher than #7.

#4 Port Adelaide - Will Hoskin-Elliot (182cm midfielder - Western Jets)

Hoskin-Elliot is my pick of the next group, and especially for Port Adelaide. He could potentially be the most damaging player in the draft, and is also the best outside player on offer. Which isn't meant in a negative way, he can play inside but he is best when able to run and link up. With skills and clean hands, he is just quality. AFL Comparison: Scott Pendlebury.

#8 Brisbane - Will Hoskin-Elliot (VIC – Mid/Fwd)
Height: 182cm, Weight: 73kg, DOB: 02/09/1993
Recruited from: Western Jets
Style: Isaac Smith/ Trent McKenzie
Player comparison:
Range: 4-15
Profile: Will is a super high hurt factor type outside mid who can also play forward. Real favourite of mine. Excitement machine. Can just take off, has great pace and will zoom past most players. Has a fantastic 55-60m kick on him and kicks well on both feet. Just always when he has ball in hand feels really dangerous. Very clean no matter the conditions, very one touch. Real x-factor who hurts you with every touch he gets. Can win some hard ball and isn’t a soft outside player. Not bad overhead and good reader of the play. Has a great leap on him! Fantastic talent with allot to work with!
Why:

having played footy with him i can tell you he plays a lot like dale thomas his just an absolute freak nick named god in the western suburbs and is more than just a decent overhead mark amazing overhead

just how tall is this guy? Most phantom's have him at 182cm, but i've seen him listed at 189/190cm elsewhere...
