would lol if west coast take Frederick, move him forward where I’ve been asking us to try him for years, and he goes on to play more games and be more successful than Rioli for us.

It’s the exact kind of port thing to happen and I reckon there’s some chance of it unfolding that way.

We did in fact get one. We traded it to West Coast for Brad Ebert so did quite well out of it.

Was going to say something similar. I think others have mentioned it too. If Marty is on our list next year, we must play him as a forward. Good pace, knows where the goals are. Could play a similar role to his brother. Too far back in the pecking order and not strong enough defensively to make it as a small defender in our team

He should be a better Sam Gray than Sam Gray - as a small forward. Just give him some point tasks to concentrate on. In the middle of the ground he's just been this low impact outside link player. A much lower risk experiment than tying a lump of salary cap and a list spot like anchors to Rioli for four years.
 
The Rioli’s of this world won’t get us long term success.
Now I have had more time to think about this I believe we should forget him and move on.
I know everyone deserves a chance in life but Mr Rioli has had his chances and decided to shyt on his club and team mates.
This is not the sort of player we should be enticing to Port Adelaide.

He is seriously the kind of guy you pick up as a delisted free agent and see if you can get anything out of him.
 
If Rioli hadn’t had his recent history, this trade wouldn’t have even been mentioned in the media. It’s really a nothing trade/3rd rounder type.

The Allir Allir trade was kept fairly quiet, until almost trade week, and job done. Fair, quick and clean. Sydney is a pro club.

West Coast on the other hand have fed the media some poor tasted commentary. Fed some bull crap Georgiades comments, increasing the profile of this trade.

Just hope Port stick to their guns and don’t buy into all the spin- 3rd Rounder at most.
