Actually feel really sorry for him. Everything in my clinical experience tells me that he's suffering from an illness of some type, yet the majority of Australians who follow tennis for three weeks a year have completely turned on him. I'd like to see him take a break entirely and get his health right because clearly he's struggling. Really admire his honesty, but it's got the point where it's almost a cry for help, and I hope those around him can recognise this.

Yeah I guess Tomic is refreshingly honest. It's a job for him, he turns up and gets paid handsomely to do so. He's not playing for anyone but himself and the general public need to come to terms with that.
As long as he takes the AUS away from his name when he "competes".

I cannot be the only one that is legitimately ashamed that Tomic represents this country.
I cannot stand his attitude.
Why do people keep saying this? He is not representing this country. He is there as a competitor for himself, this is not Davis Cup. It's no different to someone playing a local tournament down the road in that regard.

Agreed. He represents Australia as much as those drunk Bogans do when they go to Bali. His is just a little more public.

Also hate it when people sook about the money TA has given to him. The Government gave me money to get a degree. doesn't mean I have to work in said field for the rest of my life.

If you are a punter I would be quickly putting money on Diyas to defeat Rodionova in straight sets tomorrow night. The situation with her husband Vickery happening back im Australia will obviously be distracting for her. Will mentally be in another world out on court tomorrow night unfortunately.

Anyone know what matches channel 7 are showing tonight besides Murray? Hopefully Tsonga or Cilic

Look i may seem defensive of Tomic and even Nick at times but as far as tennis goes its not exactly an easy sport to have as a job. Most players would train 9+ hours a day for most of the year, have to travel to all parts of the world (not just glamorous cities) staying in hotels away from family and friends. Top echelon (top 100) do get paid quite well for what they do but for all the arm chair critics telling him to 'have a go' 'grow a heart' etc tennis is a lot more than simply getting out on court and whacking a few balls. This can be applied to many sports, the pressures from outside of the arena often are harder than the application required within it.

How frustrating, she worked hard to make the main draw and beats a good player, now this happens..

I know she is the darling and we are meant to love her, but I really don't find Gavrilova endearing at all.

Like a petulant child when things don't go her way. All smiles when they do though.

I agree with that.

Also lol at people who are ashamed of Tomic being Australian. The worst he did was tank or speed in a car. The guy hasn't done anything else worse

Unfortunately I don't get paid $15k for my boredom :(
I agree though I'm a bit lost in my interest for watching tennis at the moment. 7 would be spewing about the lack of Aussies left as there ratings will most likely dip now till next thursday-friday when the big players play each other.
