Saints have lost half a dozen to natimuk alone. Billy Taylor aside they’re all depth senior players but still, not great.

Also heard Warracknabeal have lost quite a few which is a worry for them.

Have heard thunder have a couple of travellers not going around again but they’ve got some quality recruits to replace them.

Thunder always have the cash to get the imports in. Their netball partners often the ones getting paid.

Southern Mallee (Giants/Thunder) vs Ararat Grand Final for 3 years in a row has gotta be on the cards!

Warracknabeal losing players (per Shitkicker) definitely not what you want to hear at the other end of the ladder.

General question ... I was a bit delayed but I finally got around to watching the GF on Red Onion. Not a bad production with the 3WM guys doing the commentary. Was there any washup for that Rats player that was all bloodied up right at the end or did he just cop an unfortunate knock as part of general play?

Been tough to follow what is going on in the offseason a little

Horsham demons losing a few guys I see, Kemp back to SA, Pope and Papst to Ballarat. District league picking off there depth guys as usual.

Nhill getting Trevor Ryan as a stand out for the WFL! not to many coaches like that in WFL on peoples door steps. and they don't appear to lose to many going gout of there side?

looking into the Ararat Facebook group and they look to be keeping the bulk again which is scary! did hear Hamish Hosking to go there who was a star ruck man bendigo way!

Dimboola look like they've announced just about every player returning. Jono ross, Jayden Khune, Simon Hobbs added on.

And Warrack I have only heard the same in nothing going in with a few going out. need a big boost for the eagles

Eagles should merge but they think they can compete again.

Unless Warrack pump a heap of $$ into their football department they will continue to really struggle. Need to bring it at least 5-6 recruits to become competitive again.

Interesting. Would Kalkee be an option?

Kalkee a farming club is probably fine for now. They are stable off the field. Would be shocked if they approached a team for a merger.

Dimboola and Rupanyup aren’t stable off the field.

Rupanyup also approached a couple of other teams.

When Warrack merge in the future it will either be with Dimboola or Rupanyup. Kalkee potentially if things are different for the Kees in a few years.

No way the Thunder would entertain a merger with them

The Adelaide recruits had 0 impact for them. Machok battled hard in the ruck and deservedly won the BnF but the others I thought had no impact at all,
They need 4-5 proper ready made players who are going to change the scene from the start.
Walder is a fantastic coach with a great footy CV but if the football department cannot back him up with some heavy recruiting then I expect them to finish comfortably last.

They will finish last next year. Can’t see where the improvement is coming from even if they find 5 good guys. Without naming names, some of the players aren’t senior quality

I heard Giants approached warrack at the same time they approached storm. Warrack laughed them out of the room apparently

You are correct about Warracknabeal, so many years on the bottom and the chance to paly finals with Thunder and they arrogantly refuse to deal with Beulah/Hoptoun! Beggars belief really. I remember playing against Beulah at Manang in 97 and they handled us in 03. Very well run club with a winning mentality!
No amount of cash will see Warrack make finals ever again.
Also the same happened with Birchip who refused to play home games anywhere else other than Birchip.
Would assume that Dimmy merge with Nhill and smaller towns like Kalkee NQ merge with Dimmy/Nhill. Not sure if these two teams dislike each other immensly or not.
Surely inner Horsham teams need to merge prior to disbanding altogether.
I see Trevor Ryan moving to Nhill, dare say he will take some talent with him!

Regarding Warracknabeal, I was kinda hoping (just for their sake) that the new hay processing plant being built there would bring a few guys of playing age to town, but I just read that they are bringing a bunch of migrants from the Philippines which is fine although unlikely to yield players!!!

Need to get rid off Kyle Cheney, cheap dog that campaigner

They are 3 massive outs for the Horsham arguably their 3 most important players.
Expect both Horsham and Stawell to fall off the pace pretty dramatically.
Eckle departing Stawell along with Sean Mantell back to swifts leaves them very thin through their midfield. Haven’t heard of any recruits to date.
Ararat going from strength to strength recruiting Naish Mcroberts who will be a top 10 player in the league along with Harry Ganley back to the club. They will certainly be red hot favourites for the 3 peat.

Heard Tommy Eckel to St Albans in Melbourne for 40k. See how this one pans out
You're about $10K short.

Stawell have lost Eckel, Mantell, Taylor, Motlop, Thorp, Linton, Scalanders so far with many others still tossing up what to do (Driscoll x2, Fowkes, Salmi among others to). Would expect them to slide out of the 5.

Ararat just keep getting better, SMT to be the second side, Nhill third, then who knows. MM, Dimmy, Saints Horsham and Stawell all almost on a level playing field making up numbers and then Warrack just hanging on.
