Well as some other Ararat watcher said those 5 players are all playing in the ones. I heard United did it with four of their top 10 out, one of the others playing on one leg and a handful of little kids just out of Under14's! So good on the U17 Diggers who beat the premiers of the last two years (and who get by each year by taking all the top age players from local surrounding leagues to make them competitive). If The U17 Diggers keep going well they should play finals which is a credit to the boys. Keep an eye on Nhill U17 for the flag this year. Cant believe some of the Stawell players who were in the WFL U18 teamon the weekend. Biased selection from Bach who is from Stawell. They were not up to it or deserved the spot!

Like who.
Jake Davis: Would be leading ressies best n fairest for the club in the best form of his football career.
Todd Matthews: Leading goal kicker for the ressies team and sits second on the overall list.
Justin Thomas: U/17 playing seniors and performing well.
How can you call that biassed. They didnt even get much of a run apart from Thomas. Who would you add to the side not including any rebels who were unaviable?
Also they won the carnival so the selection must not have been that bad.

This guys post.... this is what i'm talking about

who were the players? clearly they must be good enough to be picked by a panel that chooses the team.. this including highly respected peter miller. get off the computer mate and start having a look at a few games being played around the wimmera!

I do. Everyweek. Jake Ward, Great Forward.
Also Sean Christopher! The kids winning the goalikicking and its his 1st year in the Thirds!
Although it is Under 18's, i still think he should have been picked.
Both have shown how eaisly they can be shut down and how can u pick a 15y/o in an under 18 squad he would have got towled up by bigger and better players

Kye Chapple and a few others were out and that did cost us much.

Who played on 1 leg????

who played well for the 18's? from what i hear, todd mathews was a great pressence coming out of full forward snagging a few goals.. why shouldnt he be picked with results like that!

Surley you are kidding. He may have snatched a couple of goals but did he deserve to get picked before others? I doubt it considering he is overweight and only playing reserves football how could that be considered inthe top 22 of Under 18 players in the Wimmera. Just two examples of the many are Nathan Byrne from Horsham United and Michael O'Callagahan from Horsham Demons who both would be better than him. Well done from the Stawell based coaching (and selcetion) panel

Yeah thats him. He aint that bad. And sorry nardoo that we can't be fit athletes that can run for days on end it's not all ways the persons fault they are overweight. Mick o call is still to young to be playin yeah he is good but he would be towled up by 18 y/o and Nath Byrne well he prob should have got a spot in there but when they were short of key fowards you can't drop Todd for Nath

Its about time Stawell got a bit of a go, instead of the whole competition and representative squads being based around horsham. I challenge you to find another Full Forward that would of taken his spot
