What do y'all know about Lachlan Woodward?

Has fitted in like a dream to horsham demons surroundings. Noone likes him just as noone likes the team. Typical glory seeker that went to horsham to have a premiership medal put round his neck. Only + about him is his size in a league that lacks an abundance of quality talls. Lack of football talent is cleverly hidden by the quality of players around him, but don't b surprised if horsham does lose a few, that he will show how much of a hack he is. I know ppl that went to school with him and the said he was overlooked in school teams for 15 and 16 year olds when he was in yr 12, so that says as much about his football abilities as how yellow he is on the footy field. Rumours around that even his own horsham teammates r distancing themselves from him so his stay at the club may b short lived.

If quality players are continually goin to leave the wimmera league to play in the much lower standard district league, wimmera officials have to start looking at how they can make it more enticing for players to stay in the much better league. Seeing as though the three horsham teams have a combined supporter base as many of tghe other teams they should look at introducing other teams from the horsham area to the big league which in turn will bring more supporters and money to the league. The more quality players that leave the wimmera league the likiliehood of clubs landing players like tuckey, macfarlene etc will continue to decrease. By offering some sort of incentive system ala the afl for making finals which would b shared between players and the club would make it alot more enticing but the league may not have the money required to do so, so the running of the league should be questioned. I attended wimmera league and horsham district league grand finals this year and anyone that thinks the worst wimmera league side isn't a 10 goal better side than any district league side is kidding themselves. Why quality players want to leave to play a scrubby brand of footy is rediculous. People say they leave coz they want to go play with their mates but i'm sure they have good mates at the club they are already at in most circumstances. Most quality players that leave wimmera league for district league become lesser footballers and even lesser athletes. Lets try and get the legue back to the glory days of around 2000 when good players played in the best league and the league was of a higher standard.

Feel free to comment back if u think i am being unfair or completely wrong

I agree an incentive for clubs making finals etc would be great but can the WFL afford it? Probably not due to the drought. This is also why a lot of wfl clubs are struggling to recruit as they don't have the finances as they usually do.
The WFL is not that far ahead in standard as you think either. I still rate the KNTFL top teams would go very good in the WFL. They are able to attract plenty of SANFL players to the league along with a handful of former afl players eg: Modra and Fiegert.
The Wimmera league need to try a few new ideas. Eg: Longer season, Night games, Easter games, Pre season carnival (incentive based), better playing surfaces, etc and if clubs get more professional maybe they can attract the quality of footballers you are talking about when back in 2000 the comp was very stong.

Talking about better playing surfaces. Nhill has been given a state government grant to both etend the oval as well as Resurface it with a different grass. Will be up for the "08" season.

i have to disagree sorry i have seen not many but a few wimmera league games and i do think that the top sides in the district leage could quite easily beat the bottom few in wimmera , its always goin to be hard with two differnt leagues in the one area , the clubs with the big dollars are always gonna throw money to get players therfor taking attractive lists away from clubs that can attract the big guns . there are alot of home grown very talented district footballers around that dont want to play wimmera leage because of the shit that district league cops about its shit football and whatever else

*** me u make the wimmera legue sound like the AFL and the district league sound like the mallee league under 13s. There are just as many good players in the district league as in the wimmera league. I know the wimmera league has players such as tuckey and Mcpharlane they are stars. But u have a look at the players such as butch, shultz hurley they are all exceptional players and could make it in any WFL side. And to say the bottom side in the wimmera league would beeat any side in the district league is a absolute joke. I seen the horsham saints play this year and they were woeful! A side like harrow would absolutley give them a touch up! So get off ya ***** high horse and have a look at the talent and the young talent int he district league its not as bas as u think it is.

ATTENTION: Gary Davidson resigns from coach at Nhill.

On behalf of myself thanks to gary for all he did for the NSC in '07' Hope everything works out.

losing Davidson will be a massive blow to nhill. I think they will lose a few players now and find it hard to attract players. What they need to do is attract and appoint a big name ex VFL,SANFL or AFL.

I hear that they could be losing Lannin back to Kaniva, Fritsch to North Ballarat and Graham to SANFL.

Lannin is a ? so far. fritsch and graham definately leaving. Nhill is looking to struggle if they dont recruit well to cover these massive loses
