Huge win by the demons! Anyone see that coming? Could have been bigger to had they kicked straight. Thought rats might have been more convincing over MM to. Even comp

Yep...massive win for Demons. Did not see that coming!

Dimboola a bit disappointing?

If you consider games played, SMT are effectively top of the ladder with that massive %.

Watched the Stawell V Horsham game and Horsham definitely were a lot hungrier at the contest and looked to run out the game a lot stronger.
Warriors were missing 5 walk up starters into the 22 which isn’t really an excuse. Motlop did a few nice things but didn’t really look like he got out of 1st gear. Probably a good loss to have and bring them back to earth a bit after such a hot start to the season.

We weren't too far off.

Saints/Burras the close one. Must have been a ripper game. The young Saints with 5 goals in the last time get over the top.

Yeah, full credit to Saints. They've got Dimboola up next at home (after break) so you'd have to think they'd be favoured there. Next round also has SMT v Stawell which should be a ripper.

Huge 8 goal last qtr by the Burras to come over the top of the disappointing Dimboola.

Young gun Oscar Gawith kicked 5 goals in the final term to finish with 7 majors for the day. Massive wraps on the kid & hope might reconsider nominating for the AFL draft.

Not sure what's going on with the Roos. Despite their big coin recruits they can't get it done. They would be super disappointed to sit second last with only two wins against the Demons & Eagles at the half way point of the WFNL season. Undisciplined play seems to continually creep into their game.

Let’s be honest Dimboola fall away pretty dramatically after 4-5 players.
Your bottom 6 in each side is often the difference. Ararat and the thunder have the most even spread over the 22.
After watching a couple of warriors games I think their bottom 4-5 players don’t contribute a lot at all and get found out pretty quickly.

Yep. Spot on. Saints had 5 kids under 18 with two 16 year olds on Saturday against Nhill. That isn't going to cut it.

It really is a terrific season. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen one this even. Horsham weren’t far off the thunder. Was a high standard of footy. Thunder kicked a couple late to open up the margin but end scoreboard didn’t reflect the contest. Warriors beating Ararat again too. Any team can beat anyone else on there day

Ararat haven't lost since good friday though

Sorry, playhq has had a brain fart. Its uploaded the round 1 score. What was the score then?

The game was played on Good Friday (traditional game) but was part of Round 9. Both sides had the week off this past weekend, which may or may not have helped with injuries/rest/etc. The return match is Round 18 @ Ararat (Aug 24).

Two cracking games of footy this round. What a win for the young demons! Beaten Stawell and now Ararat along by all reports pushing the thunder for 3 quarters. They really must have some serious internal belief and are chasing teams down which says a lot about their overall fitness.
Stawell seemed lucky to get over the top of saints. Not many sides win with kicking less goals. The warriors goal kicking has been shocking overall they are getting a lot more scoring shots but just can’t convert it through the big sticks.

Horsham Vs Ararat had an insane finish, Demons had a shot after the siren with the scoreboard sitting at Horsham 11.13 to Ararat 11.17. The shot misses, queue celebrations from Rats fans only for the radio callers to run on the field and reveal the scoreboard is wrong and should read: Horsham 11.13 to Ararat 10.17. Horsham fans now celebrate and Rats fans very quietly make thier way out of the ground after giving Dees fans some shit moments before

Just another twist in a great season. Well done Horsham. They are building nicely leading into the finals build up. Good depth to with there reserves.

Thunder seem to be departing themselves from the pack a little and k reckon they are the flag fancies but it’s wide open

Watched most of Stawell and Minyip on Saturday and minyip definitely had their chances to snatch victory. Turned the ball over constantly through out the day and Stawell made them pay on the turn over. Stawell again missing 5-6 walk up starters into the 22. I doubt they’ll all play together until finals. Josh Fowkes would have to nearly be the leagues best ruckman he was seriously dominant all game a seriously good player.

How about MM's current 22 ... are they at or near full strength? As it stands, MM are basically 2 games outside the top 5 (1 game plus huge % behind Nhill). If I'm not mistaken, Nhill have won 3 games in a row which wouldn't have happened for a while.
