Of the non-WA boys in our team, he would be the least likely to head home IMO.

Maybe you Victorian's could concentrate on something more important - getting a team thats actually good enough to challenge the interstate teams.

It's no wonder this type of **** comes out now - 2 years why would you care, we were down the bottom. But now you can't win on the field so you try to destabilize us through the media - well it ain't ****en working, cause were sitting pretty in second, and the best you have is Collingwood

hang on didnt collingwood make the GF last year?

where was the West Australian challenge?

I remember reading a few years ago (00?, 01?) about Wirrpunda's family having a tragic illness (I presume a cancer or similar), and he wanted to return.

From memory he was given a few weeks to return, then vowed he would repay the club by seeing out his contract (at the time a couple of years).

Would he have had another contract since then? (ie re-signed), or is it possible that this is the end of the contract he promised to fulfill?

Wirra

EVERY year this starts (Wirra wanting to return to Victoria) and EVERY year nothing comes of it.
I have been in the room when Wirra has stated that he intends to play his football in Perth - as if he returned to Victoria, there would be too many outside distractions.

I guess EVERY year we will have to put up with the same nonsense while Juddy is playing for ten years at the West Coast Eagles :D

Sure. And as a doggies supporter, I blame the west Australian media for destabilizing my club with all the talk of where brown and darcy will be next year.

Haven't noticed any particular mention of the Doggies in the WA media that would equate to the Judd feeding frenzy or last year's Pavlich phenomenon.

That's the operative phrase underpants - last year. We're not talking about destablizing WA teams last year, but this year.

Anyway, IIRC Wirrpunda has also said in the past he wants to have a one-team career. Anyway he's been at the Eagles now for eight years (and multiple contracts); probably long enough to have settled in you'd think.

And you wonder why we hate you so much.
And I though it was just paranoia. Who exactly sets out to get you?

Apparently Bruce Eva or one of his acolytes held Wirrapunda down until he confessed that he was homesick and that his contract finishes ar year end.

Those footy record journo's are ruthless in getting their stories;)

Bruce Eva?
Never heard of him. Is that a pen name? Has he destryed any other States before or is he just anti WA? He wasn't responsible for the lack of a viable team in NT was he?

haha what crap. Wirrpunda apparantly tells all to Bruce Eva.. yet there is not even so much as a word of it in the WA media who would be clammering all over this story.

Just for the record Joffaboy.... Do you know where "going back home" is for Wirrapunda? because I will give you a tip.... his family do not live in Melbourne.

In fact... during the AFL's week break a couple of weeks ago Wirrpunda was missing home so much that while the majority of the team went away down south or back to Melbourne to see family Wirra was at Subiaco Oval hanging around playing pool and darts with teammates and saying that Subi Oval was like a "home away from home" for him where he just hangs out in his spare time. Really sounds like someone so homesick that he can't wait to get back to the place he hasn't lived in since he was 16.

Nice try at a troll Joffaboy... but just like the Saints u have again failed miserably ;)

Wirrapunda is from Healsville, east of Melbourne.

Don't blame the messenger _Dudd, I am only relating what you will all be reading in the Footy record on the weekend.

Comes back to haunt you doesn't it _Dudd? All of your bull$.hit trolling about the fantastic Saints youngsters, and the only real rumours are about Chris Judd and David Wirrapunda wanting to come home to Victoria.

Obviously the culture of the place must have something to do with it hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

What goes around comes around you stupid racist troll.

There is a reason for that... Chris Judd and David Wirrapunda are class players and quality people who have been through a professional club and would bring with them to their new club the professionalism they have learnt. St Kilda may have youngsters with talent but nobody knows if the unprofessionalism of St Kilda has already had an effect on Riewoldt, Koschitzke, have inherited habits that other clubs may not be able to fix. Its no surprise that the only player who gives 100% for St Kilda is Aaron Hamill and he spent the majority of his career at a successful club learning how to play.

actually a remember an interview that wirra did a few weeks back with channel nine in perth. it was about his life after football. he said that he would defiantly return home to work with his parents who work within the aboriginal community.

seems very very unlikely that dave would come out and say that he was leaving in the middle of the football season. i don't think anybody has done this in the modern era. the closest would be nick davis but even he didn't go the whole hog.

So please **** off now, we don't need this crap mid-season.

That chip must be huge.

Anytime a player it said to be looking to return to Victoria, Eagles fans come up with more conspiracy theories then Oliver Stone, whilst having a good old whinge.

Stop being so precious. This sort of speculation happens at every club. Most dismiss the rumours and move on, yet Eagles fans crack the sads.

The Eagles have never lost a player who has wanted to go home. Fraser Gehrig was the closest thing and we couldn't push him out of the door quick enough.... and was instigated by the Eagles. Nobody has ever want to leave the Eagles to go back to Melbourne.... so if anything Eagles supporters should be the least concerned. We aren't the Dockers... players don't queue up to leave our club.
