My exact opinion as well. 4.5 wins bare minimum this year. I think various clubs will rotate losing streaks.

2017 is the only spooner to get to 5 wins this century, but the bottom sides were further off the pace then.
2017 was a weird season. North could of got the spoon had they lost to Brisbane in the final round. I wish North lost that game in the final round but also won one of their close games earlier in the season. Brisbane would of still got the spoon with 6 wins and bad %. That would of mean North on 15th, Carlton 16th, Suns 17th and Brisbane 18th all on 6 wins.

Crows got top with 15 wins and a draw in 2017.

Its not like some other times of seasons past where the top team got 19 or 20 wins and the bottom side got 2 or 3 wins.

If North Melbourne get ravaged by injury (e.g. Cunnington + Tarrant + Brown) then they might be in the conversation.

Otherwise it is hard to go past Carlton.

Carlton should be able to win a few games especially GC, North, etc. should win 4-5 games.

North aren’t awful their experienced guys will win a few games

Ah, I have re-read your comment assuming now you are making two different statements.

I agree. Carton will get to 3 or 4 wins. GC/North should both be around the 4-6 mark. Who gets the spoon will depend on which of these teams beat each other over the season.

What do you mean Carlton will get 3 or 4 wins but somehow won’t win a spoon with the other poorer teams winning 4-6 ahaha brain dead

The ladder is determined by games won, not nearly won. In the end Carlton are still 1-6
indeed but I was just responding to your comment that we will unlikely win even 3 games not pointing out the positioning on the ladder. As in, it is a big statement to make that we will not even win 3 games when we could easily have already been there given a little luck. Nothing takes away from our terrible performance this week but we could still make some good progress with a return of senior players like Kreuzer, Mcgover, Simpson etc.

If Carlton won the spoon heads will roll. 1-6 right now but should be 3-4. That might end up being the difference. They’ll need to beat sides in much better shape than sides they’ve already played it will be tough. Not having their first or second pick in 2019 will hurt somewhat. But one early pick is not going to change back to back spoons anyway. The talent should already be here. If it isn’t then it’s all over anyway with or without pick 1 for SOS and Bolton. Maybe Agresta too. Let’s start another 66 game rebuild. We might need 22 pick 1s to form a decent side in most big footy posters opinions.

current sportsbet odds for least wins

GC $2.10
Carlton $2.30
Sydney $5.50
NM $10

The rest $34 and above.

Sydney and North will win enough games to avoid the bottom 2 IMO. I think it will come down to either Carlton or Gold Coast. I think the Suns will again struggle to win games for the rest of the year and might only win a couple more but that could still be enough to avoid the spoon. Carlton for mine is still a bit of an unknown. I wouldn't put it past the Blues to win at least 5-6 games and potentially avoid the spoon. Although, I can see a situation where a team like Carlton wins 5 games and still finish last on the ladder which is what happened to Brisbane two years ago.

Those Noth odds are the most compelling of the bunch I must say, if I were the bookies I’d swap Sydney and Nort. Bookies know better than me (and indeed almost anyone) though

Sydney will turn it around at some point.

Make a late push again for 5th-8th.

Carltons spoon.
Adelaides no.1 pick.

2nd bottom probably Gold Coast or NM.

Nah.
We are genuine spoon contenders.
We will be there at the business end of the season competing with Carlton and the Suns.
