So if you love a sportsman but then a few people tell you he is a flog you just instantly hate him? I have heard the same thing about him for years as well. Doesn't change my view on what he meant to me as a golfer.
And I find it very strange that almost everyone on LIV cannot speak highly enough about him.
I have no doubt he is very arrogant, I agree with you on that.
Maybe but I still believe everyone would of made that promise. Can some of the best golfers in the world get OWGR points? Yes its a no brainer. The PGA tour however stopped that.

When he started nuding up in front of a camera. The sheer arrogance of the bloke is unprecedented. I went to a golf dinner 20 years ago and the whole audience was there for him. He spoke about how much money he’d made in business and put the crowd to sleep. Gary Player told funny golf stories taking the mickey out of himself and others.
Loved him as a golfer. It ended there.
How can you promise something you have no control over?
Yes it was a massive reach to expect OWGR. 54 holes, tiny fields, no depth, no cuts. It’s not comparable and therefore can’t be evaluated from a points perspective.
Rubbish, the hero event gets points. Now small fields weekly get points. It was simply the PGA tour stopping it.
Doesn’t matter anyway, the majors invite best players. That’s all that matters.
