Trent Hentschel's knee in 2006 was pretty nasty. Only played 10 more AFL games after that.

ah yes, 2006. Things were cruising for the Crows up until that trip to Perth to play WC where we got belted by 80 points then the wheels fell off.. Hentschels injury, Roo with that virus, Mcleod and Burton going down pre finals. We should have won the flag that year. typical Crows. up by 4 goals at half time in the prelim too.

Sean Charles’s broken leg was pretty damn gross.
Have been at an ammo’s soccer game where players running opposite directions clashed heads going for a high ball, and one smashed his skull above the eye.
Watching 100 mtrs away and could hear the gunshot crack as clear as day.
Sickening. Still don’t know how he got up, and his body went into full shock on the sidelines waiting for ambos.

Can still recall a prop for our uni first grade rugby team who was an absolute nut case life of the party type who’s main concern was always getting on the beers…. Among other things…. After the game, but he actually COULD play, snapping his leg Nathan Brown style in a tackle and it was f**king sickening: I don’t know if it was his toughness, the fact that he may have been high as a kite BEFORE the game, or the green whistle or a combination of all three, but as he got carted off to the ambulance he managed to spy the local paper photographer and roll over on the gurney and pose for a photo with a thumb up and wink at him and smile
if hodge connected with wingard...
Blake Caracella kneed in the head in Coll v bris 2006. I was very close to the incident and thought he would never walk again when it happened. He tried to get up but his legs failed him. Horrific

Thankfully ‘just’ a thumper of a concussion but Eric MacKenzie getting knocked out by the ball made a hell of a noise at the ground. Straight into the temple and out like a light, never seen anything quite like it.
