I believe Johns should be kept on the list and played in the team, one of the main differences between 2000 bombers and todays team is aggression and physicality. Have Johns played simply as a hitman, and bring the dons the hard attacking reputation we used to have. (and if he kicks 1-2 goals a game its a bonus)

Point well made, however we were the most feared side in 2000 in a lot of ways. Definately physically. In my opinion though, a lot of things we used to have in our gameplan wouldnt be accepted these days. The tribunal wouldnt allow it. In 2000 we had a lot of players that were intent on physically hurting other teams, fairly. I dont think these days some of the things the johnson boys, harwick, wallis, banard etc used to do would be allowed. Or go unnoticed. Johns hasnt showed that he can be physically intimidating either. He is big yes, intimiating? No. Intimidating is players such as Hodge

we only have to remember that wallis didnt show any consistency until 99-2000 and then held down CHB, because johns hasnt had te confidence in his ability i dont think he is showing his true game of the physical nature, he apparently was very physical when he was young.

We have a heap of worse players and it would be unfair to differ one from the other cole, bradley and bolton

Only if he targets players behind play, he can barely keep up with the pace of the game.

Thats a point well made too. He is too slow and has trouble reading the play around him. He can improve though, needs too

One thing i believe essendon do poorly is blocking in the forward line maybe johns could bring that alot more into his game, may not show up on the stats sheet but is a great help, (i personally feel this is a huge reason why llyod hasn't been kicking bags this year i reckon llyod gets spoiled more than any other forward) this season is huge for johns either he picks up his game or he is out my point with the right preseason he can be a huge help to essendon in 2008+

Mcphee overrated?? are u serious he has more talent than most of our players he is quick, tall, can mark and run alll day he has evry thing... What has bolton done for essendon every time he plays it is like we have 21 players he runs around like an idiot not even getting near the ball. WHen someone is mid 20's and cant get a game in a team who is 12th on gthe ladder and you are backing him up he is by far our worst

I think there is a number of players who have to be told they have one year to prove what they can do, if they dont, they are gone. There are too many young players with an ego bigger than their abilities and they need to be told that, hopefully that might wake them up a bit.

I dont know how Dyson can be mentioned here too, he is one of our fastest players, his skills are pretty good and seems to read the play well.

Unless you have intimate knowledge of the club then that is an unwise thing to say. What are you basing it on? innuendo? Your gut feeling?

How many people who can read the play well end up with 5 possesions in a match? Dyson is mentioned because he cant get the ball.
