Not according to Shane Crawford. Having seen a few Dogs games i'm pretty sure Ward would get squeezed into their lineup. Your thoughts?

from today's squad he would replace either of Fasolo, Young, or Buckley. But they would be replaced by Johnson, Didak, and Beams after injury.

He's be competing with Jaryd Blair for the last spot.

Much better than Wellingham.

In isolation, he's slightly better. But Wellingham adds much needed pace to our midfield, which Ward couldn't do.

To make our 22, he'd have to prove he was a better HFFer than Krakouer or Sidebottom. Dogs fans would know better than me whether he'd succeed in that role.

Ward is comfortably a better footballer than Wellingham.

There is a reason Collingwood shopped him around and a reason why GWS want Ward.

Will be one of the better inside players in the league soon.

Comfortably better? Stop making a fool of yourself. Wellingham is probably one of the more underrated aspects of the Collingwood midfield unit. This guy gives us speed, is often asked to do the defensive jobs on opposition midfielders, is dangerous up forward, very versatile. Ward might be the better player but to suggest comfortably so is utterly stupid.

i'd take wellingham over ward.

wellingham's very under-rated, i feel.

heard on AFL 360 that he was a 'battler' and they put him in the same class as jake king/scott stevens. i laughed, much like i did when king said richmond were going to be top 6 for sure.

the guy has serious talent + a great work rate. he's quality.

More than one reason but they are out of date. He hadn't put his head down and cemented a spot in a good side but he did in 2010. Pies wanted Ball badly and offered talent to help get him. He wouldn't be shopped now. GWS are after ward because getting a quality kid from the Dog's is much easier than getting one from Collingwood AND they want Thomas and a crack at Pendlebury.

Ward is best played in the guts & Collingwood have a lot of talent there. He would definitely get a game though. Crawford is wrong on this one.
