Larger than life wrestling figure. When you think of Wrestling, you think of the immortal one, Hulk Hogan.

Hulk Hogan got a run with WWF in the early 80's. The times were changing, and instead of hiring the classic mat wrestler, the WWF were looking for larger than life figures, and Hogan fitted that perfectly.

Hogan went on to have a massive run, winning the title 5 times between 83-93, and became possibly the most popular of all time.

He later shifted to WCW with plenty more success.

Hogan popped up once again in the WWE in 2002, reforming the nWo with Hall and Nash.

Since, Hogan has had several appearances within WWE since, yet at the present the 2 arn't the greatest friends.

Hogan was inducted to the hall of fame in 2005.

WWF/E Tag-Team Champion x 4
WWF Intercontinental Champion x 3
WWF/E Heavyweight Champion x 4

One of the most charismatic wrestlers in history, Michael puts on a show in and out of the ring.

His career has been ultra successful throughout, and he came back from the brink and a very nasty back injury to return to the sport a few years back.

Michaels will go down in history, and is a dead set certainty to be named in the WWE Hall of Fame when he retires. He is currently out due to a knee injury.

Round 1 Shawn Michaels defeated Dean Malenko 7-0

Round 2 Shawn Michaels defeated Roddy Piper 8-0

Round 3 Shawn Michaels defeated Goldberg 8-0

Round 4 Shawn Michaels defeated Kurt Angle 10-1

I voted for the Shwostopper.

Brilliant on the mic, brilliant in the ring, and plays both roles very well.

The successful little man in a world of giants.

Michaels kept the WWF/WWE from becoming extincted in the mid 90's.
Ignoring the fact that you said 'extincted', therefore assuming it is a serious opinion, I would have to say that there were a lot more superstars around in the mid 90s than there were a decade prior when Hogan ruled the scene. Hogan carried the WWF on his back and was the first presence people saw when wrestling appeared back on our TV screens. Bit parts from Bobby Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Cyndi Lauper and Captain Lou Albano also helped initially (speaking of that, when the hell are we going to get some decent managers back again?) but Hogan was the show. He was the one that everyone was waiting for. Warrior and Macho Man appeared to form some opposition but it was few and far between at the time.

Unfortunately I feel the days of the manager are just about over.:(

The best example of these two in the ring was displayed at Summer Slam 2005. Michaels carried 280 odd pounds of useless hogan to a half decent match.

i voted for hogan by mistake, so you can take one away from hogan and add it to hbk's tally.

the hogan gimmick never really excited me whilst he's wrestling skills are pretty piss poor.

Hogan gets my vote, I agree with ODN, Hogan carried wrestling for years and made it what it is today.
Hulkamania is running wild baby.

The Hulkster, who didn't have a nickname with "ster" on the end of it at some stage?
