Incorrect reason why Port used training guernsey, should be listed as "Training guernsey used for a M&M promotion."

"It was a sponsorship opportunity that was too good to miss," recalls Port Adelaide chief executive Brian Cunningham.

In a repeat of the Carlton episode in 1997, confectionery giant Mars was releasing a teal version of the m&m's chocolates.

"We came to know about it very late in the piece. So late we did not have time to even start designing a special, one-off teal jumper. And there certainly was no time for Nike to deliver whatever we designed.

"But we did have a teal training guernsey.

"It was a good opportunity. Too good to ignore. The AFL was supportive. In fact, they loved the idea."

That article from Port seems quite odd.
There was no mention of M&Ms at the time - they only mentioned it being used to avoid a clash.
Eddie did have a concern about that jumper on The Footy Show that night asking the question of how the AFL has allowed a sponsor across the front of the jumper during a home and away match.
Perhaps the article is true but the M&Ms sponsorship was hidden from the AFL so they could use that jumper with Scott’s Transport across the front.

It was definitely brought up in 2002 about the M&M sponsorship: https://web.archive.org/web/2002060...fault.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=37013

Hi Mero - sorry if you've addressed this previously but I couldn't find anything with a quick search. Following the discussion on the Swans heritage jumper, I've noticed in the Home Jumpers section that the 1905-6 jumper has lighter red (stripes) than the preceding and following blood red/white jumpers. Should the stripes be blood red as well, or did they indeed use a lighter red for those jumpers? They seem to be lighter on the Season by Season section jumpers as well (with a blood red collar). Cheers.

What's happened there is an old image was coming up for that jumper.
There was a problem a couple of years ago where the site I had hosting it went back to an old saved version of all my files.
It appears that's what was on the site.
I have uploaded the correct image, which should match to the same as the Season by Season uniforms.

GC Indigenous' numbers have no white outline on them tonight v Richmond.

In SDNR v Hawks @ SCG jumper had numbers with and without the white stroke
