I didn't mind the round so far on a Sunday morning. Something tells me I won't be bothered this year.

Few things help in ol' Melbourne town like a last name. He's not the first, he won't be the last - but denying any nepotism is beyond ridiculous.

My first thought was "Jesus, he looks really bloody in that suit!"

I didn't have a second thought, he didn't say a single thing that was remotely interesting or memorably, it was literal in one ear, out the other durge.

Yeah, exactly.

This is ridiculous - the AFL media landscape is absolutely dominated by family connections. McLure, Browne, McGuire, Wilson, Malthouse, Lane, all have "who you know" connections. Any nobody - no matter how good - has practically zero hope.

Usually they do it the really hard way through local radio etc.

It shits me that you have journos who slog away as a labour of love doing the hard yards during the witching hours on SEN, calling the VFL or the local footy leagues for years, meanwhile someone like Tom Browne knows Caroline Wilson who is the daughter of Ian Wilson and hey presto, here's your career.

A nobody wouldn't come back from what Morris did let alone be handed plum job/s at Nine. Wouldn't happen no matter how hard they worked, so it's all about those 'right school' connections and nepotism.

McClure is wrong so often and has no distinguishable talent so he would've been spat out ages ago.

McGuire was an actor who got his foot in the door because of his surname. Wouldn't have mattered if he had no talent at all, he got his start and that allows him opportunities others would never have access to.
