We've turned Butters and Rozee into total spuds I agree
That's like saying we'd turn Ablett Jr. or Gray into a spud some will transcend it on pure ability, others who are closer to mere mortals won't including young forwards kicking from arseh*le to breakfast after a break out year & a brownlow winner regressing to a spud overnight.

He's obviously got many good attributes, his poor kicking just stands out in our chaotic system, doubly so in a game like last night's when things aren't going our way and we're under pressure to actually make the most of our opportunities.

I don't think people realise how many elite kicks we have in our team. Other teams, including the good ones, have many players who are average or even poor kicks. But they have a system that makes everyone look better, unlike us who rely totally on individual talent and moments of brilliance.

Let's remember Rozee was looking that way as well until a last minute hail mary (that everyone else could see needed to happen earlier)

It's a good point when the system is flawed every weakness is fully exposed.

We would be idiots to trade out duursma.

He’s the right age bracket, we need running wingmen, his form was fine until he had a series of unfortunate (ie contact) injuries. He’s young enough and about to have a full preseason.

The only way we should be trading him is for another similar young player of a need that would be unlocked by moving him.

Not a mid career uncontracted player like zerk or esava.

Not a draft pick where we have to take a punt on a player and I don’t like the odds of finding a better wingman than duursma in this draft with any pick we’re likely to get.

Only a trade were offering duursma creates the possibility of getting such a player in return.

He plays unhappy if that's a thing. Hinkley has ruined this young man. A brilliant first year. So brilliant in fact that gutter snake Hinkley couldn't help but publicly put him down. "Not exactly shooting the lights out" Creepy Kenny said. He's vindictive and cruel to the young players as highlighted once again in the post GWS presser.
Xavier, think to yourself " F*** you Hinkley".
I do it every day. It's cathartic.

I agree
Duursma doesn’t seem to love his footy atm

The biggest knock on Duursma is his ability to hit targets up the ground. That would have to be one of the more important things to do as a wing. Not sure he'll ever fix that weakness either. The other stuff I like.

The knock on Duursma so far is that he can't shake injuries. Has potential and is a solid player when fit. Even when struggling he is putting in more effort than most.
What? The knock on him is that he has a couple of absolute putrid kicks a game that is costly when he is playing wing

What we loved about Duurs at first was his gut running basically, he be bobbing up deep forward , on the wing , in defence , his last two games he was struggling to keep up when he was attacking the ball let alone gut running when he wasnt directly in the play .
I think it’s his body not being right , otherwise he’ll have to try and re invent himself as a Burton /Hartlett type of half back and swap with Bergman ,
If trading he’d be worth around pick 17 - 23 I reckon .

I can't recall X-Man ever being party to the Cult of Hinkley.
