You want games that help build character and develop mental strength. I was reading about Barassi recently and he said team mates motivate more than a coach can and this is why he preferred players with character.

Also as a fan, I love these games.

On top of that we shut any reason to tank down after last weeks win vs GC moved us to 6 wins and well out of the bottom 3.

Was a great fighting win but you are kidding yourself re having a top 3 pick vs winning a few late season games and the impact it has.

If we win 2 more out of the next 6 do you think they will be remembering the WC game?

I was advocating trying to slip to bot 3, a top 3 pick will have a 12 year career... your wc win will last until their next game...

Bugger me what an enjoyable win. JDG was huge. Really liked the games from Crisp, Grundy, Howe, Treloar, WHE and even Langdon was ok. Poor old Goldy battling out of his weight division again had about 8 kicked on him. Thought Greenwood was important as well. Firstly for hitching on to Gaff most of the game and his last quarter was excellent also.

One pleasing aspect to today's win was how players stepped up in the absence of Pendlebury.

Of course he's our best player, but I do wonder if we rely on him too much.
