The newest and 6th studio album from Mr.West, shows a different side that many have not seen.

With dark titles such as 'New slaves' and 'black skinhead' this album is sure to generate some noise.

has anyone else had a chance to listen?

for me its his greatest yet

I'm really starting to get into it, nearly listened to it 20 times. This is the first Kanye LP I've listened to as well so I'm coming in with basically no preconceived ideas of what to expect, but I really do rate it.

Glad you are enjoying it as much as me.

To give you an idea, this album shows a darker side of Kanye. Its very unique in comparison with his other 5 albums. I guess this is why people are having such mixed emotions about it

808's was quite dark as well.

That's not why people are disliking it though.

Why a let down? Tell me what you like and dislike about it?

Lyrically his weakest effort, weak songs, messy/choppy transitioning and the obnoxious sounds/noises that has become common on Kanye's music as of late (MBDTF onwards).

The random sounds/noises Kanye has included in his music of late, have become a part of his style. A style i quite like. It throws a bit of 'unknown' into the music for me.

Not just the randomness, the loudness and ugliness is pretty evident in WTT, GOOD Music and now Yeezus.

My other criticisms still apply.

The entire album is good for me, but i am a massive Kanye fan haha
Pretty evident.

It feels really strange MBDTF came out about three years ago. Already giving me nostalgic feelings.

I haven't heard it yet but reviews have certainly been interesting.

I saw the songs on SNL and liked them. Pretty glad he went in other direction, 808's style.

I don't think it's any near as good as My...Fantasy

I've only listened to it a few times, but I knew the previous album was amazing and ground-breaking from the first listen. Not so in this case.

Lyrically, it almost seems like a response to people accusing him of sexist lyrics - the overarching theme of this album, as far as I'm concerned is that he doesn't only hate women. He hates everyone.

Except himself of course.

Was really looking forward to this but it's a pretty big let down for mine.

Comes across like he's trying too hard to shock. Also where are all the feats. Kanye is known for?

Yeah I was listening to MBDTF the other day, and I realised that it's already three years old. Scary.
