Radio 'You cannot be serious' podcast with Sam Newman, Don Scott and Rod Law

Sheehan was in Will Schofieldā€™s podcast last week.

They got on to YCBS and the Winmar edition. Mike said it was a mistake to ever do the podcast and that he didnā€™t like Don. Unclear if that was always the case or just now. Also said Sam was a loose cannon. Schofield asked point blank ā€œHave you fallen out with those blokes?ā€ And Sheehan answered ā€œYesā€.

He's got a whole YouTube channel documenting the entire [emoji6]-month trip. Oozing sexual tension!

Love to know how much he has outlaid on repairs on the boat ā€¦ would have been cheaper to maroon the thing in Queensland and buy a new one for the trip back

Grant Thomas and Sam Newman talking about blatant corruption matter-of-factly, making Sheehan piss and shit himself live on air was peak AFL media.

Wayne is genuinely boring and a fence sitter about anything other than AFL. With the controversies he has endured, being controversial or opinionated is something he wants to avoid.

Let's give him a chance and see how he goes. I never listened to his previous podcast, so don't know how he performed.

Having a co-host again is a good move. And one of the best footballers of all-time, no less. I thought Part 1 today was a good chat.

This is a poor selection and he should only be used during the footy season.

For whatever reason, Sam doesn't have the balls to stand up to him/disagree with him the way he did to Mike/Don/Rod etc. Maybe because he doesn't know him as well, wants to be polite or is intimidated (not that Carey will have strong opinion anyway as you said).

The other hanger onners are just Sam fan boys, so would never challenge him anyway. Hence the podcast has become a boring love fest.

Someone surely must have that Nicky Winmar episode downloaded and sitting somewhere.
I don't have it, but I did listen to it, and I can tell you that you're not missing much. It was a pretty measured conversation. Nothing controversial. I was shocked to learn of the fallout. There's been a few attempts to put the podcast out of business, so I figured the lawsuit was just one of those. The first was in 2020 when the cops showed up at Newman's front door because he spoke on the podcast about protesting.

So far so good for The Duck. Calling Sam out on how he brings everything back to welcome to country was amusing.
Yep, and some of the footy discussion on Longmire was pretty interesting too, notwithstanding that Sam doesn't watch the sport.

There's no shouting as was the case with Don. You can tell Sam has huge respect for Carey's standing in the game.

Hopefully it means less Dick from Muff. Carey seemed happy to bail from the studio when he started sprouting his conspiracy theories last week.

Dick from muff. No ****ing good.

Man, Carey can talk. I wonder if Sam will continue to tolerate him dominating the conversation. :grinv1: We know he (Sam) likes to be the star, except when he's interviewing someone.

Also, Carey's big mistake about Longmire at Sydney gave me a little lol. When trying to pump up his old teammate John, he said something like, "he was so good at Sydney that, despite Terry Wallace apparently already being signed up as coach, the people and fans at Sydney liked John so much that he got the job ahead of Terry." He was only about 9 years out

That is funny.

I have not listened to the podcast for a few months but I might have a listen again if there will be more football talk.

Duck is far from my favourite but players that good usually say something interesting if they talk for long enough.

If you put aside Carey's personal life, which is what i do when im listening to podcasts, his insights are pretty good on footy obviously but also the other mechanics of the game. You can tell he's over the media bullshit whenever he says anything remotely controversial so he holds back on most socially sensitive subjects now. Sam takes care of that. :tearsofjoy:

It's annoying how many dynamic ad insertions have been put into the podcast. There was periods of time over the years where 'You cannot be serious' was ad-free.

Love the addition of Carey as co-host, but I'll miss 'The Truth Hurts' podcast, and I also miss Don Scott on 'You cannot be serious'. Wish he'd return on a rotating basis.

Was the best of times.

One may suggest the show has sold out with ad introduction.
