Is anyone here about 17-18 playing local footy in their teams seniors e.g. the ones not twos
if so say who you play for and what position you play and how your year went.
you can only have played one game but still post information as stated above

a guy in the WRFL for sunshine won their best and fairest
would only be 18 years old and apparently dominated from half back
good skills, good engine, nice mark and reads the play well
should be playing somewhere in the VFL next year

There would have been almost 10 U18 players who consistantly played in their sides 1's this year in the GFL.

I played the last 5 games at Whitefriars OCFC at FF/CHF as a 17 year-old. Kicked 4 goals in first game against Brighton and handful in the other 4, While still being eligible for U/19's for the next 2 seasons I hope to play consistently in the 1st's next season

Jack Reiwoldt (16) played in the Seniors for Clarence in the SFL Premier League and had a good year by all reports. Did a lot of good things in the Grand Final and was dangerous early and took some strong marks and kicked a few, kept the Roos in it in the first half.

Just remembering back to the old TFL Statewide League days I can remember two 15 year olds making thier senior debuts at Hobart.
1986: Paul Hudson debuted for the Tigers under his father Peter Hudson who was coach at the time against the now defunct Sandy Bay at Queenborough and kicked two in the first quarter. Went on to become a very fine senior player at Hobart before being drafted to Hawthorn.

1991: Michael Martin debuted as a 15 year old against the old Burnie Hawks at West Park and to be honest, although did some good things now and then, didn't stand out to me as "star player" material. Got drafted a couple of years later to Footscray and then later to the Brisbane Lions. Nice kid though.

I play for East Brighton in SFL. We had a young kid 16 years old "Jared Matheson" who the year before was our water boy at the club. He played allgames in the seniors and 3 finals including a grand final. This kid has amazing pace and is a great overhead market, he is not bad around goals either. He was in our top 8 in the b&f. Watch out for him in the next few years, has a great head on his shoulders for a kid so young. His father andy and grandfather both played at Woodville in the SNFL.

Several young under 18's played regular senior games in the RDFL this year... Woodend had Sam Bowen and Jack Jermaine who were both consistently in thier best players, the best at Woodend would have to be Matt Stacey, played first ruck all year and had a really strong year.
Diggers had Mick Kilty who also had a good year in the Seniors.
Others were Edwards at Riddell, played consistently in the Senior side, Cam Dawson who played as a forward most of the season with Romsey and kicked alot of goals.

clarence footy club this year had 12 players 18 or under
rohan swan (18) hbf wing
marcus turner (18) mariner ruck fb chf chb great skills both feet
sam fielding (16) mariner rover fp hbf does 16+ in the beep

If he wants to go further with his football, he should get out of the Southern Football League while he can.

Hobart Football club had 15 players debut this year and 13 of them were under 18. Although they may not be as flashy as some teams, the future looks strong and the rebuilding phase is looking the goods.

James Charleswoth (16) Mariners, quick electrifying, Steven Milne like
Jarod Mason (17) Tough as nails, Dean Laidly, junk yard dog
Trent Nichols (16) Great spring, very young, solid performer
Mitch Butters (17) Looks promising, tall, lump of a lad
David Clarke (18) Extremely athletic, fitness machine, deceptively hard
Will Mcmanus (18) big motor, great competitor, rarely beaten down back
Jamie Di-Lenno (18) hardest player in the state, enough said
Alex Clarke (18) tough, rugged onballer, breaks packs open
Cameron Beck (17) Mariners, tall utility, tough, good hands

Jamie Di Ienno (18) hardest player in the state... You are a complete sp*stic mate. keep ya hand off it when ya posting and keep on ya medication :thumbsu:

The Hobart Football Club will never amount to anything, nor will it be a patch on the traditional Hobart Football Club whilst it wears those rediculous colours, wears that current guernsey and is known as the Lions.
It might win games but won't have any following and will eventually go broke.

Well done Tornes - Dalrymple said you'll go a long way son, though a trip down the Freeway to play A Grade with Trinity might help accelerate your development!! (hint, hint)
