Rod Ashman. Not for his playing ability, he was a good footballer, but he made a lot of time for my 9 year old cousin in the early 80's who was dying. He visited him a number of times and came to his funeral when he passed away. He didn't have to do that after the initial make a wish type visit but he did.

Ken Hunter was as brave a footballer as I've seen. Jezza was a freak (and back in the 70s/early 80s a big mark was actually called a Jezza). Bruce Doull was awesome (and he delivers my mail). And Kade Simpson of the modern guys is just a great worker. But I'll stick with Ken Hunter.

Hate Carlton, loving the winning streak we've racked up, and annoyed we only get one game v Carlton and Essendon each year these days, but it surprises me how many Carlton players I've liked over the years...

Doull, Rhys-Jones, Alvin, Harmes, Wayne Johnston, Madden, Mil Hanna, Bostustow...mostly older guys from their best era, a mighty side which won four flags in nine years, three in four...admired and hated at once...!

This one's easy .... Alex Jesaulenko

Jezza fits for a lot of reasons. Moving past the highlight screamers he left a real legacy to the game we play today.

Who'd have thought of moving a 100 goal forward to the half back flank? He might not have invented the idea that the HBF could be the driving force of team attack, but he surely brought a lot of attention to the notion.
