Which club mate?

good luck!

Devilbend, used to live closer to that way then I do now but generally play with a mate of mine.

Had a shocker yesterday. Managed to put 3 balls in the water on the 5th par 5 and actually ended up making a good 10....

The difference between my good shots and the bad shots is just infuriating...

Reckon if I'm locked down I'll play more golf tbh
I thought that too but then I thought pro shops will probably be closed and therefore courses closed??

Pro shop closed = cash in honesty box
Yeah I remember those days. Just not sure anyone is trusted these days, will be interesting to see how clubs go about it.
Did see the new rules re/ scoring, flags, bunkers etc. interesting times!

Looks like all club pro shops/bars will be closing with the new requirements. Hoping my club can continue to run competitions given it's a minnow and could quite easily operate without having indoor facilities.

Also gives me an excuse to BYO beers when playing ;)

Thinking the same about National.....hopefully. if not, oh well.

I guess in reality we may not be far away from a time where courses have no staff and they grow wild.
Going to be a challenging time for a lot of clubs unfortunately just like everyone else I guess.

i remember watching a doco on what the world would be like if humans all left the planet. grass and her allies would take over the world. And animals flourish. Exciting

Grouse.
Probably get eaten by a crocodile first round back!

Anyway so possibly my last round *hoping not* was a 50 from 9 holes at Chelsea Public.
If I can learn to putt, I could easily get that down to 40 because I reckon on nearly every hole I did atleast 3 putts, sometimes 4. And I'm talking several misses from < 1m

Are you marking your ball and walking around the hole to feel the gradients (where its uphill, downhill, lateral movement)?

I get low and look down the line at the putt. My reading skills aren't great yet but no, I don't walk all over the green.
My 2 biggest issues are inconsistent grip/setup/stroke and the fact I cannot get comfortable or confident with my own putter

i consider myself a v good putter. But it comes down to experience and reading the speed of the greens. playing teh same courses regularly aids in remembering where the borrows are etc. so things take time.

inconsistencies will plague you. can consistent, find what your comfy with putting wise and stick with it.

i encourage you to walk the green, or at least from your ball to the hole. FEEL where the pressure is on your feet, that tells you were the gradients are.

Got an email from my club it’s still
Open just strictly must conform to the new rules around the virus and the bistro/clubhouse is closed but pro shop open. One person per cart.
We have a yearly memorial this week for an old mate who passed years ago which is always shotgun start but they are out now too.
