I always find it interesting to see what North fans have entered as their "Other Teams" on their BigFooty profile.
It ranges from opposition AFL clubs to local football and other sports.

It got me thinking about other sports and teams I could follow in the AFL off-season.

This is basically a call to everyone - I want to hear what other sports and teams you support and why this crusty old North fan might be interested.

A bunch of work mates support the Philadelphia Eagles in NFL and the Sav Rocca connection is enough for me to follow them. :)

Arsenal in the PL, Luton Town (though relegated now) to a lesser degree as that is where I was born.

Nothing else in the off season bar the AFLW.

I follow Alpha Gamma Zamma wrestling team at Ohio State because of The Filth Wizard spending some time in their senior lineup.
helena bonham carter what GIF

I have a soft spot for one other AFL team due to a familial connection and it doesn't even pain me to see them do well, but from fear of persecution I will not name them.

Have you considered disavowing them?

I'm a sports nut, I played about 10-12 different sports as a kid and would watch many other sports whenever I had the chance, so I supported a lot of different teams as a youngster. I still follow the progress of a lot of them today, but I'm not as passionate about a lot of them as I was growing up.

The Eels (Parramatta) are my favourite NRL team. Like North I have been following them since about 1976 and are the only team I'm as passionate about as North.

The Cumbrians (Carlisle United) are my favourite English Soccer team. I started supporting them because they were the closest English team to the Scottish border. Also, an old Atlas I used to discover this little piece of trivia listed the County the city is located in as Cumberland (it was a pre 1974 Atlas) and at the time Cumberland Oval was the home ground of Parramatta, so I saw it as a sign that they were the team to support (I was only 7 at the time :) ). I also follow Liverpool which is my EPL team.

The Staggies (Ross County) are my favourite Scottish Soccer Team and play out the township of Dingwall which is where my ancestors came from when they emigrated from the Scottish Highlands in the 1850's.

The Atlanta Braves are my MLB team. Once the MLB season ends (and it could be as soon as next week if the Braves don't sweep the Mets) then I will change it to a team thats season has just begun like the Atlanta Falcons, Liverpool, Deportivo La Coruna, Fiorentina, Karlsruher SC or Olympique Marseille.

Orlando Magic, West Adelaide Bloods, Blackburn Rovers, Chicago Cubs, St. George Dragons, Baltimore Ravens, SEM Phoenix (used to be a SEM Magic fan… loosely followed 36ers after Magic folded)

I follow any team that loses habitually and embraces mediocrity. Sheffield Wednesday, England in anything, Victoria in anything. Only team that bucks the trend are the Melbourne Storm.
You're an amateur when it comes to picking losers. :D

Parramatta haven't won a premiership in 38 years, Carlisle are 3rd last in League Two after being relegated from League One last season, Deportivo La Coruna have gone from Spanish League and Cup Champions and Champions League Semi-Finalists to a third tier club in 20 years, Fiorentina haven't won the Italian League since the 1960's and the Atlanta Falcons haven't won a thing in almost 60 years. Even Liverpool have only won one league title in the last 35 years. In fact, North Melbourne may be my most successful team in the last thirty years. :(:(:(

I think I want to cry after writing that.

My other team is the Diamond Creek Women's Football Club in the NFL.
Not to be confused with the Diamond Creek Football Club. Been involved
for 10 years, Secretary for 1 year and President for 3 years.

North players from the Club Sophie Abbotangelo, Ash Riddell, Jess Duffin.

Other to make AFLW to other AFLW Clubs. Tiarna Ernst, Lauren Morecroft, Millie Barden,
Stephanie Chiocci, Lisa Williams, Lauren Brazzale, Alison Downie, Laura Attard,
Shae Audley, Christina Bernardi, Stephanie De Bortoli, Kirsty Lamb, Chloe Molloy &
Katie Loynes

I love heaps of sports so follow many teams and have followed them for many years. Kayo represents massive value for me :/

NRL - Penrith Panthers
Union - ACT Brumbies
NBL - Perth Wildcats
NFL - Philidelphia Eagles
NHL - Pittsburgh Penguins
NBA - Chicago Bulls
PL - West Ham
F1 - Australian Drivers / Anyone not British

Don't care for baseball but Ohtani is fun

In AFL terms. Second teams would be Freo (fiancée's team) and Bulldogs (Mum's team)

Football - savage River Plate (since 1995) medium Leeds United (since 2001), Atletico National (by marriage since 2014), South Melbourne Hellas (by location of where I grew up/live).

NRL- Storm, never go but watch. Went to 99 GF in Sydney after our GF. Was awesome.

Baseball - Astros (massive Astro family), I don't really have a team, just love the sport. More just barrack (and bet) against Clubs I dislike.

Cricket - Australia, love the sport. Don't care for club cricket. Despise India, Sri Lanka - don't mind England for some reason.

Basketball, US football, Boxing - I just can't get into, tried but not for me.

Chicago blackhawks in the NHL. Cannot recommend that sport enough, fast paced, intense, punch ons. Chicago are dogshit at the moment but ive seen them take a few cups so its not too bad.

Starting to get more into baseball now thanks to Jomboy, havent picked a team yet though.

And i'd watch just about any cricket match at any level if its on and ive got time.

SANFL- W-WT Eagles
WAFL- East Freo
QAFL2- Springwood

NRL- Wests Tigers
QRL2- Wests Panthers

NBL- Tasmania Jackjumpers

Cricket- anything Tassie

NFL- Miami Dolphins

NBA- Boston Celtics
NHL- Calgary Flames

I've been following the Eagles for 35 years. Dad used to work for GM and got transferred to HQ in Detroit for a while. We joined him there for a holiday and the first NFL game I ever saw (on TV) was an Eagles game. They won (I think against the Cowboys) and I've followed them since. This was back when Randall Cunningham was QB.

Ironically, probably the best player I ever saw, Barry Sanders, played for Detroit.

I follow the Phoenix Suns for a similar reason, they won the first NBA game I ever saw.

Used to follow the Cleveland Indians purely because of the move Major Laegue with Charlie Sheen. Lost interest years ago because I find baseball boring, but they lost me altogether when wokeness took over and they couldn't be called the Indians anymore.

For EPL, I used to follow Sheffield Wednesday, for no other reason than they wore the North colours. Then I followed Wimbledon (used to live there for a while), and more recently Spurs purely because of Ange.
