:thumbsu: Yes, that little hairflick thing she does just gets me everytime. Put the blame on Mame!

Y'know there is a case to be made that in that film the real sexual tension is between Glenn Ford and George Macready. There is defineitely something going on there!

Haha - good point Sandeano - was thinking the same thinking the same thing :D Glenn Ford seemed so reluctant to take Rita Hayworth - definitely suspect!

Some real good 'uns on that list. I noticed that you used the title "Six Days of the Condor" I have some trade ads of the time advertising the film with that name (which was the title of the book) before they cut it down by three days.

A nice, true comment on "The Wild Bunch" - the ideal father/son bonding flick.(The same can be said for Bullitt and The Great Escape). If you ever get the opportunity (if you haven't already) try and catch it at a cinema, on a big screen with a ear-shattering sound system and a full crowd. An orgasmic experience!

Also, good to see some love for "Falcon and the Snowman". A very underrated film.

Got me pinned with condor, i had the book title in my brain, probably was thrown that way by typing it after the 6th sense. Great movie, especially love the old school phone modem thing he does, made me crack up.

Falcon and the snowman is right up there. Not often you see an american film touching on Australian politics, albeit slightly fleetingly.

I'll stick in Good Will Hunting and Rounders too...couple of Matt Damon faves of mine.

Redford's sideburns were really something!

Speaking of which, Newman and Redford were going to do a movie called The Front Runner in the 70s - would have been the first story focusing on male love - but Hollywood vetoed it. John Huston also wanted them for The Man Who Would Be King - until Newman said "For Christ sakes, ask Caine and Connery"!

I know that Gable and Bogart were set for "The Man Who Would be King" back in the 1950s for Huston but Bogie became too ill to travel. A decade later he wanted Burton and O'Toole. I could see both those pairings working and I love the performances of Caine and Connery (and their chemistry), but Newman and Redford? Nah, can't see it.

Newman was pretty hot at the box office because of blockbuster hits in The Sting (73) and The Towering Inferno (74). Redford had come off two smash hits with The Way We Were (73) and The Sting (73). Huston wanted to capitalise on Newman and Redford's incredible chemistry, and Huston had worked with and liked Newman. IMO opinion, both men had too much All American boyishness for the roles of Connery and Caine.

Oh, I can see their box-office allure at the time, no doubt about it, but you are exactly right as to why they would not have fitted the parts. Then again, both had that unusual mix of cynicism and charm so come to think of it the idea may have worked. ...or at least have been interesting.

There are a lot that were unlucky to miss out. However there are still a lot of movies I'm yet to see. So don't have a red hot go at me over snubbing a classic, it probably means I'm just yet to see it.

And being typical of a list of me there'll be a multitude of movies I've forgotten :p

EDIT: Titanic out, Rain-Man in.

Is Titanic still in your top 21?

I'm genuinely interested to see how people's top 10 (top anything) lists change over time.

I listen to my music playlist from two years ago and even though I knew it was crap back then, I still enjoyed listening to the songs. These days it seems like I skip more songs than I listen to.

Some seriously good lists here. I could probably take 10 from each one. I'll give it a go, but in no particular order:

Pulp Fiction
Fight Club
Chopper
Forrest Gump
Terminator 2
Anchorman
Gladiator
The Matrix (Trilogy)
Se7en
The Negotiator
Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels
