I've been lucky to only have:

Pendlebury, Swan, Shaw, Selwood, and Smith out so far. I'll be trading Selwood for Boyd.

I don't think I'll cop a donut but I'll have to play all of

Mzungu, Darling, Heppell, Lower this week, when none of them are in my strongest lineup. A bit frustrating, but still good to have Iles, Puopolo, I. Smith etc to fall back on if necessary.
ed: Oh, and Hibberd.

Luckily avoided Montagna, Adcock, Mundy, Roughhead etc. So much of this game is good luck rather than good management. Just look at Judd_Magic as evidence of that, well up until this year that is.

Yeah, I suppose that trade has a bit of merit, but again, Smith is only going to miss one week. Unless you are absolutely desperate for Vardy's 60-80 points (I'm assuming you have Cox/Sandilands/someone who's not playing as your other three rucks), I think you need to sit tight. Vardy's already up over 200k and Smith still has some maturing to do (hopefully peaking at about 425k). While it makes some money for you in the short term, the ability to trade him for a 110ker after Sandilands comes back will make you over 100k more than your proposed Smith -> Vardy. That 100k will be like gold for your final upgrades.

Also, if you don't have two other more pressing trades to make this week, I reckon you're going alright...
I have Mundy, and want to get some coin to "upgrade" him, due to his massive price drop.

I do agree though, no need to panic.

Cheers mate, and gl to all in making your decision on Smith!

Like I said ar5estrap two years in a row of finishing in the top 400 is no fluke. You have to know what you are doing to be able to achieve that.

Yes I am around 3000 overall at this stage and not doing as well as I had hoped to but ask PK Le Grand, Biggie and some of the other veterans around here and they aren't doing that great either.

You are right about one thing. Alot of good luck is needed in this game. Doesn't matter how good you are about picking the right players/rookies or how much of a superstar at trading you are either. If you don't have an element of luck then you can be screwed over severely in this game.

Wouldn't matter, Collingwood have the bye.

But I'd like it if he finally got a game too. Has been warming R4 all year and Collingwood have named him emg at least 5 times this season.

 Mega embarrassment. And a definite zero for me this week.

I got sucked in by Keeffe's good NAB performances. I'm sure he can score well if he just gets a game.

still got cox and petrie. not the end of the world.

just as a sidenote how many players miss games with general soreness now??

i think the first time i ever read it was about 4 years ago. now you see about 10 times a season.

I have 9 trades left with Petrie in my forward line, but need to swap out Roughhead and Gilbee to finish my team off. Got to decide whether it would be worth postponing Gilbee and trading in J Tipp for Derykx as my R4 or should I just take my medicine and save a trade this week.

The big question is if I do all that as I mentioned, will 6 trades be enough to cover LTI with 10 rounds left?

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the one donut this week will inevitably become two donuts with the Cox bye in round 15(?). It all depends on whether Sandi is brought back in before they bye or rested until Round 17. So it could be a bigger gamble then you think.

Considering a Sideways trade for Tippett.

Smith being out for the West Coast bye has crossed my mind, but I'm much happier with Smith being rested now. Given the GC's habit of resting its kids, I'd expect Smith to be back next week (or the week after at the latest). Definitely before Cox's bye.

He's not injured? Why would they rest him for 3 weeks? Answer: They wont.
