One thing that strengthens the Choccy in argument, is that he had a rough start last year but from R10 to the end of the season he basically tonned up highly most games and the two he scored lowest in were the Sydney teams where he was both tagged
I assume Choccy is 'Neale' but I don't get the reference. 'Choccy Neale'... is it a Victorian thing?

Priority OUTS this week are (in no order);

Garcia
Day
FOS

Plenty of cash to upgrade Day to anyone, but would a downgrade to Knevitt be a better option to keep the cash flowing? Would give me a warchest (880k) to work with thereafter.
Did I hear the Traders say Hunter Clark was injured in the Geelong game? If so, is there room back in the side for Garcia. He'd still need one more injury to pop, but if he's starting 22 he can surely average 60 odd and he wouldn't be an immediate, high priority, trade out if he did that?

My issue of Neale is that when he gets hard tagged, he is absolutely horrendous.

Based on past history, 3 teams tag him every time they play (Sydney, St.Kilda and GWS). I would hate picking Neale knowing he more than likely drops a sub 80 score against those teams.

Day - Knevitt
FOS - Farrell

Rankine and Dylan Moore targets over the next couple of weeks to shore up the FWD line. Hopefully JHF can rediscover some form soon. Holding Stewart (presuming he's back either this week or R4 v Melbourne) so my toxic relationship with him continues.

Would you go Neale or Dawson? I already have Dunkley

I think a lot of people are overstating how much cash gen we need this season. We have 3 super cheap (potential) top 6 forwards already in our teams in Macrae, Smith and Daniel. If you have a decent amount of those cheap midfielders that are already making money (NOD, Knevitt, Lalor, Lindsay, Ashcroft) then you are already pretty much set up for the season. Definitely don't need every rookie cash gen option.

With how bad the defence options are right now I actually think it's best to upgrade early there in preparation for best 22 in R5. Do not want to rely on a Prior/Reid/Trainor at that D6 spot. And with SDK and Freijah already putting up 70 scores (decent but meh scoring) I would really only want one of those guys in my team still by round 5. Forwards and midfield is looking pretty decent for most teams already with the value there, so defence is where we should be upgrading.
Yeah but even if you wouldn't need the cash in a prior season where you didn't have those cheap uber premiums like Smith, Macrae and Daniel, you're playing in a season when other competitors have those cheap Ubers AND have that awesome cash gen. So many already have Lashcroft, Lindsay, Co. Warner, Knevitt, NOD. Those players are going to leave you behind in cash generation before the byes. You will still get to a completed team, and maybe even earlier than last year. But others will get there quicker than you.

Itll be the focus for me next week for sure, however some of those 700k options aren’t looking fantastic

Do I downgrade Garcia to Dewar OR
Upgrade Taylor to L.Humphires
With the cash remaining from Hollands to Knevitt.
Open to any other suggestions as well.

Is NOD a priority if I already have Knevitt, Lalor, LAshcroft and Lindsay?
I think it depends on what you're trading. Fixing up someone like a Hollands alone, and otherwise humming. A good target. But if you're fixing up a Day, Brayshaw, insert other failed players are 700-800k id be tempted to go to a premium over going down to a NOD.

Yeah agreed. I’m currently Dunkley - Rozee - Oliver - Day - Knevitt - Lindsay - LAshcroft

Think I’m just going to bite the bullet and get Dawson and upgrade Leake to Connor O’Sullivan.

That’ll keep cash going.

I know everyone is saying trading out Day is not a priority, but if I don't trade him this week, it's pretty much a hold to keep him for his good run post bye. In doing so, I still have to deal with Perryman, Taylor, Garcia and Wicks. I don't have the cash to upgrade to anyone decent, unless it's in the forward line and a sideways trade in the backline.

Despite Day's good run, watching him put up these poor scores have given me little faith that he will go on a big run. Carlton and Essendon aren't exactly tough matchups for midfielders.

To make my trade scenario abit easier.

Going Garcia > Clohesy/Hall for both trades, would you go,

Perryman > Rankine (means i loop Reid and Trainor with Roberts)
or
Perryman > Farrell (means i field Davidson)
Farrell ,rankings could be sin risk again, r12 tho

I can do Sanders down to Dewar and Campo up to Dawson.

Or could go Garcia down to Dewar and get a value guy like Soligo in.

As much as it hurts to have picked Brayshaw over Dawson, I'm thinking I might just double down and open myself up for more

Honestly I don’t think so
Rankine is probably the only one but there’s no one else really screaming out to be picked in the forward line and I believe JHF should come good
Will he, I'm struggling to see it, currently on the chopping block, could easily be an 80 guy

Right, someone tell me I’m crazy.
Thinking Day to Knevitt
Saves me 681k
Next week that allows me to upgrwde
SDK > NWM
and
Finlayson > Rankine

Thoughts? I’ll have to wait a week on Bice but I’m keen on it
Can't believe you're considering carrying the cash on Finlayson's head for two weeks. He needed punting as soon as he wasn't named for R2.
