Because North’s list management plan was to sort their midfield first and then build out from there. Will Phillips was the best pure midfielder in the draft by a street, so if you put 2 and 2 together, then there’s your answer. Obviously, inside midfielders usually take a bit more time to truly develop and if you add on the fact that he didn’t play any footy in his draft year, then he hasn’t exactly had a terrible start to his career. 16 games in his first year is pretty handy and if you compare it to the rest of the draftees in a similar position to him, then I’m confused by your trolling.Ward and newk will be those guys who make everyone look better around them, can’t wait to see how the midfield goes.
Someone talk me through why north took will Phillips at pick 3 again
What’s so baffling? North’s list management plan was to build their midfield first and then sort their other lines later. Who described him as the “safe bet”? He was widely regarded, by those who know a lot more than us, as the best pure mid in that draft by quite a long way and so, based on North’s list management plan, it was a pretty easy decision. It's absolutely baffling, but he was regarded as 'the safe midfield' bet at that draft.
Looked super vanilla to me, albeit with a good turn of speed.
There was real talk we'd pick him, and I was a little terrified at the prospect.
Still young enough to turn it around, but hard to see why he was the 'safe' option.
North wanted Logan McDonald but were spooked by the go home factor. Their recruiter was also keen on Hollands but was over ruled by the board due to the ACL.Because North’s list management plan was to sort their midfield first and then build out from there. Sorry mr Phillips, we didn’t mean to speak Ill of your sonWhat’s so baffling? North’s list management plan was to build their midfield first and then sort their other lines later. Lol what on earth are you talking about? “Still young enough to turn it around”. He’s been in the afl system for one year and played 16 games. That’s better than the majority of the 2020 draftees. You’re carrying on like he’s been in the system for a while and he’s on his last chance. Inside mids take a bit longer to truely develop and if you add on the fact that he didn’t play any footy in his draft year, then I think you need to take a deep breath and give him a break. He will be a good AFL footy player for a long time.
Shit take.Hey Dopey, you do realize whose board you are on, right?
Here on the Hawthorn board, Hawthorn supporters are free to describe whoever the fu** they like from other teams in whatever the fu** terms they like, and it aint trolling.
You might be the only north supporter that I have spoken to that is okay with the decision, absolute banana of a pick with pick 3. I am almost certain he would not have even been picked in the first round.Because North’s list management plan was to sort their midfield first and then build out from there. sh*t take.
People can describe anyone how they want, but others have every right to call them out when they disagree with their take, there's absolutely no need for the tone in your message.
The take you're defending is also a bizarre one, hence why it was called out.

Also earned it when McEvoy got covid.Earned it with that last half performance in the AAMI game. Super keen to see how he measures up against Goldy
Whilst i agree with your basic message, the tone is uncalled for this early, respect is a two way street.WTF are you talking about?
Are you new to this board?
This is the Hawthorn board.
Head off to the Main board if you want equality of opinion. This place is for Hawk supporters or respectful visitors should they choose to engage.
That post about a North player would have had to have been made on either the North board or the main board to be trolling.
There is ZERO expectation that North supporters would be hanging over here and find offence with a posting from a Hawk supporter.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, I'll use whatever ******* tone I like thank you very much.
