I was hoping Phillips got a gig. Serong at 193cm is still a little short and timid for mine. Missing Blanck frame and attack on the contest last week.

Mackensie sub? I would say Ambrosio, Worpel,Wiz are automatics. One of Dear or Serong will play. Serong in could also allow a def to switch and play Dear role.
I thought Serong was 214

Hopefully Mackenzie for Ward. Way too talented to be playing for Box Hill. CJ lucky regardless of defensive running patterns. Serong could have played against Max G or Cadman but no obvious match-up this week. Sick of hearing about Whitfield. Had 30 at 3/4 time and we were still 5 goals up! Daniels way more influential in the last. The boys seem confident and are hoping to run (speed) them ragged!

Don't worry, if we lose this week the same call to drop the 22nd man will happen again.
Like swapping our least important player for our next least important player will change the result of our next match.
I don't think Ward is one of Sam's favourites. Fair enough I guess. Sam want elite attributes and he's currently as vanilla as it gets.
Lose and it will be CJ and whoever comes in destined for scapegoat island.

Crowd is going to be significant.
The AFL members is all but sold out all the GA is gone.

It's going to be another great experience for our boys, regardless of the score.

We lost by 2 points, not 100. Why would you be calling for more changes than that? And why would you drop anyone but the 22nd man? Would you like us to drop our 10th best player instead?

Funnily enough, coaches don't look at swapping the 'least important player' for our 'next least important player' either. They select based on rewarding better form, developing players and for reasons pertaining to team structure. Who knows, maybe the guy that comes in this week becomes one of our most important players in this match as he continues on from a rich vein of form in the VFL and seizes his opportunity.

What a bizarre post.

Predictable out, if Cam comes in and has an average game, he will probably be out next week. It seems as soon as either of them have a poor performance, they are gone. Ward didn’t even get 1 CBA last week. CJ on the other hand gets multiple free passes.

Collective Bargaining Agreement?

Are you referring to GWS as one of the two games?

If so, I'd say we ran out of steam which is what happens at the back end of a season with a young group. But when you add the shorter breaks compared to your opponents plus back to back road trips (which no-one except for us ever have) you can really understand the result.

Buy saying we went out without a whimper is a little unfair.

That’s why I mentioned both games. If they do the same this week I’d call it a whimper. No excuses.

Don't usually get too hung up over selection, but dropping Ward annoys me. Getting the boot over one bad game is pretty piss poor, especially when everyone else gets a free pass for bad games. I feel he can be a very good player for us and this kind of shit only hurts his development.

Need to make a plan for Day, clubs have seen what we are like when Day is tagged.

Maybe we need to start him at half back or forward to try to break the tag.

🤦‍♂️

With Box Hill having a bye , the selectors could have easily stated Ward as managed rather than omitted. I feel they are giving him and the whole team a message to perform or there are players good enough to replace you.
A great sign for an emerging club.
Josh is only 20 ,supremely talented and a smart cookie. He will respond positively to the omission and be back in the seniors before season's end

If the final bench is to be drawn from the interchange currently listed I'm thinking we will go with
Worpel
Dear
Mass
Watto

Breust/Frenchy to sub

Ward might see himself as a bit unlucky but I don't think you can look at his omission and see it as the incorrect decision. I thought CJs game on the weekend was maybe his worst and least clean I've seen in a while, but you can see why we keep him in - he's a running machine but has an explosiveness that Ward and others don't.

I like Harry as the sub. I reckon if he was sub on the weekend we'd have won. He's a settling influence on the side, he's a good runner and he can play anywhere from HBF to HFF.

I just feel like were gonna get the job done on Sunday. We had far too many players down last week and led for 3/4.
Wont happen again. I fully expect us to come out firing and showing the comp what we are really capable of.

Think Mckenzie has to come in with Burst as sub. Gunston has an important role to play on Weitering (he killed us last few times) Hopefully we put some time into Cripps and the rest should take care of itself.

I understand where you're coming from, but it's never that black and white; every player has a plan from the Coaches perspective, team balance is a consideration, furthermore, this is an elimination final, can we afford to take in a player who's underperformed?

There's invariably several factors for team changes.

How Ward gets the chop but CJ somehow keeps his position is a mystery. He's had a charmed run.

Hopefully it's Mackenzie that comes straight in.

Agree on CJ but not on Ward - 11possessions in a game where we really needed him to stand up justifies his omission this week. I get that CJ is down is still playing catch up and we need him to get up to speed but yeh probably needs a spell at Box Hill. Will be interesting to see how he goes against Carlton

Interesting just spoke with a friend of mine who works at a certain opposition club that we may or not play this week.
A certain key forward is a genuine test and very very sore. No sure thing to play.

And further to this, Battle is looking more likely to stay than go, however cant be confirmed as of yet.
