Banfield was NOT OK. He is not AFL standard and must be dropped to Peel to be saved only for back up. This nonsense of coaches picking him in R1 each year is ridiculous. I guarantee if Erasmus was playing instead of him we would not have had that momentum killer in Q2. That was the moment that almost cost us the game.

Banfield plays too fast for himself. Think he does well with pressure then goes over the top with the ball.
Frederick was the same. Speed but always outrun the ball/player etc.
Ideally Treacy replaces Banfield when Tabs comes in. Sturt as well

Very harsh. May not have had one to remember with ball in hand but some of his one-on-one defensive efforts were absolutely crucial in that final quarter. Very important in stemming the Crows run and corralled and hemmed in a number of inside 50 drives during our late comeback that would've killed us off before we could hit the front.

Overall I thought it was a mixed bag for Ryan, but definitely doesn't deserve to be pilloried. Especially considering some of the other, more highly touted players, that buckled/went missing under pressure

Yeah Eleni was terrible but that other no-name male ump absolutely crucified us too.

Best exemplified by that play on the wing in the 2nd half where he ignored an absolutely blatant HTB against the Crows by the new rules, only to ping Brayshaw 5 seconds later from the resulting ball up when he was tackled immediately as he received the tap.

Missed watching the game entirely today, but I did however walk around Bunnings in circles, phone in hand, staring at both the score and the clock during those final 48 seconds. Fell over a pot-plant and skinned my knee on a huge bag of fertilizer, but no regrets.

Was going to watch the replay online tomorrow, but going by the comments here I might not bother with the replay... already had one nasty run in with a massive pile of sh*t today - why make it two in a week?

Something tells me we're going to see lower possession counts for Ryan this year as we look to feed the ball to Clark on the way out instead.
