Although you cant prepare for it, no doubt there will be more Covid cases during the year as that seems to be on the increase so players will go in and out of the side for a week. The mental health issue seems to be increasing as well and all of this stuff is basically extra to having injuries,- some short term and some long term.
The player who is adaptable and can play in 1 or 2 positions becomes invaluable.

I reckon this will be one of those years where the premier is the good side who has the most luck with injuries/unavailability - Melbourne won't win the flag if covid runs through the club before the prelim

He was on the news in the recovery session in the pool and they mentioned that the club had no timeline and were happy for him to take all the time he needs. At least he's got some routine and staying fit for when he is ready to go.

That's all good.
But he's out of contract at the end of the season.
Is anyone going to throw him a new one?

Of course. What I think SS is saying is that if Jones' issues remain unresolved by the end of the season, and he does want a contract extension, then we will be in a difficult position.

He’s too good of a player to not offer him a contract, you’d give him every opportunity even if it’s just another year.

7News reporting he is playing VFL this weekend. Absolutely fantastic news for everyone involved, especially Zak.
