Marchbank is close to being ready to play apparently but understandably not setting any expectations in terms of senior return.
McGovern has been running for the past couple of weeks but we all know the Russell approach by now … despite there being little evidence it works with McG
even if caleb is ready to play he must be rusty, 2019 was his last game.

IF he's fit and has some touch back (and can stay fit) will ease our 3rd tall/interception issues. might have to play ruck though, the way it's going.

Any chance we can send Pitto's wage bill for the next couple of months to Darcy? Pitto is watching the fall of the ball, while Darcy is watching Pitto and then jumped straight into him.

Pitto approached that contest with his lower leg out to the side so got exposed to potential injury.

Darcy was going in with knee first and his lower leg tucked backwards away from the contest.

Im not saying it was deliberate but I noticed that they approached differently.

Pittonet’s improvement this year has mainly been his follow up work after the ruck contest which is mainly due to Ruck coach Matthew Kreuzer, his actual ruck craft is still a work in progress and truth be told that was never Kreuzer’s strong suit.

Kreuzer was never a pure ruckman. He was a 200cm tall ruck/rover who rucked fairly well, and then turned into another midfielder. i'm ok with Pitto turning out like that... with TDK to guy up against the rucks who really jump for the ball.

Should Darcy send his wage bill for his concussion to Charlie?

It’s a physical sport, incidents happen. It’s unfortunate but in no way was this a deliberate act by Darcy.

Ruckmen often look at eachother when running in, it's not that unusual.

Even if Darcy was intending to put a knee into Pitto, there's no chance he thought "I'mma rupture this MFs Patella". The accuracy needed to intentionally hit someone in that exact spot when they're running, jumping and the knee is moving up/down/sidewards is nigh on impossible.

No chance he was aiming for it, it was just bad luck.

Gov has re-aggravated his hamstring.

While I think he would have made a terrific intercepting defender, we need to start looking elsewhere given our other option, Marchbank, hasn’t played a game for the senior since COVID was a thing.

CARLTON defender Mitch McGovern has experienced a re-aggravation of his hamstring injury and will remain sidelined for an extended period of time.

McGovern underwent scans this morning after experiencing discomfort during training.
The Club has just received the results of the scans confirming the injury, which will continue to sideline the 27-year-old for an extended period with a timeline of recovery to be known next week once he is further assessed.

Would make sense now that Kemp goes back. We can do without the 3rd tall for the next few games but will need one in for the giants.

One of the easiest positions on the ground and Kemp seems to be struggling to find the footy at VFL level.

Seems like a no brainer to me..

He’s actually improved up forward in the last two games. But when he went back for a period against Werribee he looked a class above. So for me it’s also a non-brainer.
