Texans make the most sense out the teams you named I reckon.

Saints cap still tight due to kicking can down the road

Bears, better off tanking, giving away pick(s) for Jimmy serves no purpose when tearing the roster down

Together we solve the world's problems. Texans it is.

Having reviewed the schedule I think is is safe to say this is as good as the 49ers could have expected.

I'm a firm believer that where and when you schedule games can often determine outcomes and the 49ers seem to play most of the good teams at home and the bad ones away.

Some random observations.

  • why complete the Rams double so early?
  • The Cards game in Mexico City is an away game but will essentially be a home game so we don't sacrifice a true home game to meet the international obligations.
  • Another schedule with back to back East Coast road games, although they should be very winnable.
  • The bye comes at the perfect time.
  • What is the unders/overs for arrests for the Raiders game (scheduled on New Years). I'm taking the overs.

“From players I’ve talked to and coaches I’ve talked to who are at the 49ers,” [Ryan] Harris said, “Trey Lance is really leaving a lot to be desired in terms of the fitness of his arm, whether or not he can digest the playbook, and can really start to process the game at a high level.

“So breaking news for you, I believe it’s going to be Jimmy Garoppolo in that game with the better structure around him and having Kyle Shanahan want to create the narrative Week 1 against the Bears.”

What the **** is fitness of his arm? Is it October and Lance needs to start game7 of The World Series? Now "analysts" are just making up tangibles/intangibles.

I was thinking they might have meant finesse eg putting the ball on the absolute spot?

But first time I've ever heard fitness! Unless it's he can't make 40+ passing attempts a game. Which isn't the Shannan way.

But super weird ways to bring a non story up.

Inanimate carbon rod > Pre pealed bananas > Grant Cohen > inflatable ping pong balls > Ryan Harris

Never knew you rated inflatable ping pong balls less than Grant, I think youre coming around to him mate. ;)

Considering most of the offensive staff are new and the outgoing ones haven't seen Lance since January it is a most weird take.

The world loves a big headline with a bunch of sortas, could bes, suppositions and outright backtracking in the article body.

Me thinks, there is a pool of Illuminati who are genuinely fearing what a 49ers outfit with an upgrade QB situation could mean.
