ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) "remains on schedule" in his timetable for throwing.

Garoppolo was expected to resume throwing in early July. That plan is still in place, according to Fowler. Garoppolo's timeline sets him up to be cleared for training camp, but whether he'll be with the 49ers, traded or released remains to be seen.

arm health and arm fatigue back on the menu thanks to Colin Cowherd and his mate... :tearsofjoy:

The Athletic's Ted Nguyen reports a 49ers coach knocked down talk of Trey Lance struggling with "arm fatigue."

“I’ve never heard anything about that a day in my life," the Niners coach told Nguyen. Sports media personality Colin Cowherd and NFL reporter Mike Silver said during a recent podcast that the 49ers were trying to "rebuild" Lance's throwing motion because of fatigue issues. "He gets arm fatigue. It's not an easy throw. He needs days off, and they're worried about his accuracy," Cowherd said. Silver said there was some concern about Lance's arm health with in the Niners organization. It seems like a non-story, and likely won't be a factor in Kyle Shanahan choosing a starting quarterback for the 2022 season. Lance should be considered the favorite, though Jimmy Garoppolo -- a longtime Shanny favorite -- looms large as training camp approaches.

I so miss 49ers and NFL not long now to the season starts

Gawd that was brutal.

Marcus Spears talks about the time he got hit by 2 guys and he didn't see it coming, the sideline had to tell him that it was only Trent Williams

San Francisco wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who has been working out with Lance all offseason, posted video of three great passes that Lance threw to him at a recent training session. Then Aiyuk mocked the idea that Lance’s arm tires out easily.

At the very least theyre better than Tuas throws to Hill that the Dolphins twitter sent out in OTAs trying to boost him up for an arm when the ball was badly underthrown

They were all fine, just not sure about "great" as described, could argue the last one was underthrown, no Tua underthrow but still. Im sure they were likely the best 3 of 15-20 throws to make the cut for the Gram also.

Yeah little sus only 3 shown, and then he probably did get arm fatigue after

Tretter would be a good pickup, I assume this would happen once Jimmy is released....

The Athletic's David Lombardi writes that the "initial hope" of 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is that Jake Brendel can start at center.

Alex Mack's abrupt retirement and the lack of salary cap space the 49ers have as they ride out the Jimmy Garoppolo situation has left the 49ers without much recourse to seek other options so far. Daniel Brunskill was also thrown out as a possibility for the position earlier in the offseason, but appears to be set at right guard for now. It remains a situation in flux and could be a landing spot for an older free agent like J.C. Tretter as we get closer to the season. Brendel has 250 career NFL offensive snaps to his name as a UDFA from the 2016 class.
