I haven't encountered a single person, in person or online, yet, that hasn't liked the new Top Gun.

I figure it's time to pop that cherry so I will come to the undisputed capital of the kingdom for people who don't like things, especially when other people like those things and those things are popular, the get really a get thread.

So brothers, how good is Top Gun Maverick? Really surprisingly good I reckon. It had no right to be so good.

Tom is a psycho I can't watch his films. Good luck with it Boomer.

Thanks Jimbo.

For a sec there I thought society was in danger of gathering around a fire, singing kumbaya, holding hands, and developing lustful thoughts about each others bottoms.

Can I say that I am a believer in climate change but if these sort of "records" were happening at the other end of the spectrum (which they have) there'd be a lot more hype around it.

Was listening to some things yesterday with some blokes speculating that La Nina could become the norm for Australia, which would be excellent news.

Not so much for a lot of other things and places though.

The argument moves so quickly though doesn't it? It was only a few years ago that Australia was going to be hot dry desolate wasteland where it was 50 degrees every day and it never rained.

Again, I do believe in climate change and we should be moving to a low carbon world but the cyclical effects of climate seem to be systematically ignored to suit ones argument.

Isn't extreme shifts from hot to cold also climate change? Is this really ignored? I feel like there are always discussions where people have to explain the difference between climate and weather whenever there is a cold snap.

Why would la nina being the norm be a good thing for us? Parts of the country may as well be permanently underwater in that case. There would also be permanent changes to eco systems and habitats.

Well seems like a good time to dig up the old Bradfield scheme.

An enormous amount of this country is barren wasteland devoid of water. If we have to sacrifice Queensland to save the rest, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Yep, we have plenty of bananas in WA, but they're those little ladyfinger ones. Just have to eat twice as many.

They only stopped saying Global Warming about 20 years ago but glad you could catch up

I mean to be fair, the planet is still warming, but dullards couldn't get their head around localised fluctuations and changes in weather, so climate change was a better catch-all term.

I can't see who you're responding to since they're already ignored, but I can guess lol

Global warming huh?? But today is cold! Explain that one science!
