Would love to know how that wasn't picked up earlier. Highly unlikely that is a new thing. This sorta missed/extremely late diagnosis is something happening within our walls incredibly regularly.
His surgeon ****ed up. His surgeon doesn't work for the club.

If i remember correctly, last year Butters got an infection after his ankle surgery. Was there another player it happened to as well? Dixon?
Concerning.
Yep and also happened to Bergman had to have his shoulder surgery twice after an infection the first time. This isn't specific to Port it's happening everywhere.

Fantasia with his shirt off at the end of the latest Rock the Razbah episode, bloody hell.

Now I'm no Chadbro but can 100% say I'm in better shape than him. Maybe you can get away with it if you're out there and playing good footy but when you get injured every second minute and haven't played a game all year it's not particularly hard to join the dots. It's actually disgraceful.

Rockliff is in better shape.

And he's been retired for a year.

And had deep vein thrombosis.

Let me say that again, the pig is in better shape.

Have we he had more soft tissue injuries this year? And more delays in return from injury? Or does it just feel that way? If it is true, perhaps it’s AFL wide and related to the soft cap restrictions?

On the infections - it’s rare after that kind of surgery and in athletes full stop. Brodie Grundy had a really bad infection- could some golden staph be lingering?

It's because we binned our fitness department and looked for the replacement on wish/alibaba

You would think that the AFL would prioritise clubs having adequate fitness staff. If teams aren’t fit enough or recovery is poor, the product isn’t as good. And players could rightfully take legal action if they felt their injury was mismanaged, like Egan at Geelong or Venables with concussion. Psychological support similar really.

Probably more important than coaches. Ie run with min coaches over min fitness staff

PORT ADELAIDE may have a near full squad to choose from come this weekend with five players potentially able to return from injury including young guns Lachie Jones and Josh Sinn.

Trent Dumont – calf (assess)
Orazio Fantasia – quad (assess)
Lachie Jones – hamstring (assess)
Scott Lycett – shoulder (TBC)
Jake Pasini – knee (season)
Josh Sinn – groin (assess)
Brynn Teakle – collarbone (assess)
