This is the crux of it. The Port I grew up watching that he's talking about here were so good across the board and had so much swagger, you never doubted they could win from anywhere. It may not have been fact, but because of their dominance it felt like an anomaly when we lost. It didn't sting much at all, it just kind of felt like "huh.... well there you go". You knew next week / next year it would back to our winning ways. That was hard earned. Jack knew what it was worth to the supporters AND his players. We all wore it like a suit of armour. We didn't just have clutch players, we were a clutch team.Those sides he mentioned MADE you believe in them.
Because they believed they could always win.
The current side folds like a wet cardboard box in pressure moments way too much to beleve in them.
