Watched a little bit of On the Couch .They showed some highlights.I had to turn it off as every highlight seemed to include a blatant throw.Does my head in.

I think the benefit of the doubt is given to the player disposing of the ball. I'd like to see it go the other way and the ball should clearly be propelled by the fist otherwise it's illegal disposal. Get players out of the habit of just making it look similar to a handball

I don't think the players are even trying anymore. Two handed shovel seems to be common

Alistair Clarkson > Ross Lyon.

Who will be next to reject the Bombers, Mick Malthouse?

In terms of experienced candidates, few more may be

Buckley said no very early
Clarkson
Lyon

Leppa?
Don Pyke?
Matthew Knights again?

I heard Gary Airs name thrown up by some Essendon caller on Vic SEN when I was listening a week or so ago - hadn't heard his name in years and wouldn't even know which club he's at thesedays.

I remember him coaching some VFL side last time when he was considered. But it was few years back I think.

Didn't know where to post this but I've started designing a clash guernsey for 2023. Its a rough concept so far but thoughts?

i like the blue, I would do something diff with the gold/yellow border of the chevron. being so thin with the thinness of the maroon part too makes it seem even thinner

Clearing the path for Hird to return. 🤢🤮

If they're serious, they should get Don Pyke.

Aside from the Adelaide off-season camp debacle, he's a pretty good tactical coach and has improved Swans ball movement considerably this year.

Big aside that one. Can't imagine it being tenable for any club, let alone the one that participates in the Dreamtime Fixture, to have someone like that as coach.

Anyone who knows Don Pyke is completely bamboozled as to how that happened.

Doesn't line up with his character.

Someone got their wires crossed badly somewhere.

He needs to serve more time out - everyone deserves a 2nd chance once you’ve done your time - but now is too early imho

I’d say the 🤡 who ran it - but the buck stops with the Senior Coach - it was lunacy

Perfectly reasonable people can be pushed to do unreasonable things in the pursuit of excellence.

The crows PR approach of deny, deny and downplaying it has stretched the issue out and caused a lot of pain for a lot of people.

Brett Burton probably more culpable than Pyke from what I understand but the senior coach can’t escape responsibility.

True, but how you handle the aftermath is a big factor too. Didn't see a lot of ownership from those in positions of authority regarding the damage they had caused.

I suspect without the constant pushing from Journalists to expose the story, the cracks would all have been plastered over by the club, including the coach, Burton etc.

I get that, but Swans have employed him after all this and they would've grilled him as part of hiring process. I consider that club and admin as pretty sound decision makers both on and off field.

Longmire praising him in 2021 - Longmire lauds “wonderful” and “fantastic” Pyke in coaching credentials boost

Pyke again apologizing for Adelaide debacle - ‘We got it wrong’: Ex-Crows coach Don Pyke says sorry for camp after more players speak out

Pyke definitely misjudged what happened in that camp and he had the power to stop it - but he didn't. I am not sure what's considered the acceptable penance period for him to be re-considered for any role or how long he needs to be "away" to be deemed as acceptable timeframe. I am not even sure what he needs to do to show he's reflected on it and wanting to right the wrongs. There is no perfect template out there in terms of process - say a punishment, fine, community service, jail time etc.

You can't just ostracize a person just because he was accomplice to one big mistake in their life time.
