What's preventing us from being at that point now?
I feel like maybe we already are approaching that point. Brett Kirk's son is in the U18s now and I believe he's among the first generation of father-sons to actually be from Sydney, as opposed to the likes of Mitchell (WA) and Dunkley (Victoria) whose father-son ties we couldn't capitalise on as Sydney wasn't home to them.

The father-sons born and raised and living in Sydney are the ones we will benefit the most from, as they're from a generation that's had a genuine system and pathway into AFL in NSW, unlike the generation before. But it will just take time for more of their sons to emerge.

Swans season has been the classical heroes journey

Started the season, showed glimpses of our potential
Strong performances against the Cats, Eagles and Hawks but overall nothing too impressive
Smashed in the middle part of the year, Essendon stands out as our lowest point
Transformed the way we played, picked up Clarke, Fox and Stephens in our 22
Put in our best performances at the end of the year
Winning the grand final will seal the story

One day minstrels will sing of our season
