Sorry to quote you twice, but this board is nothing compared to the North/Port boards regarding Horne-Francis, and I'd suggest most North supporters are completely deluded if they think they are getting two first rounders PLUS a Port under-25 gun like Butters or Georgiades, or 3 or more first rounders! And those threads are rolling over to a new page almost every few minutes! And the vitriol on the North board at JHF, Hawks ex-indigenous players, ABC journos, AFL, Port is next level. Cess-pit on all fronts.
I can understand their disappointmen. JHF was their first ever number one draft pick. North Melbourne have always been a middle of the road team, not top four but not bottom five. They seemed to have lacked the courage to bottom out, until now and they are hating it. It didn’t helped that they cleaned out ALL of their older players, what a dumb move. JHF gave them a bit of light down the tunnel, imagine if Cooney had wanted out after one year.

I think they need to get a grip, realise that this player is done, get everything they can for him and only draft Victorian kids for awhile. Brisbane turned it around by drafting country kids, North can turn it around. Two good drafts and they can move up the ladder, it is too soon to be chasing other clubs players.

Power has improved as a media performer. Still gives nothing away but more personality than his first few goes at it early in the job!
One decent joke.

His interview on trade radio this morning put me to sleep. Maybe that's his strategy - put the Freo list management team into deep sleep so they can hand over Lobb.

Think our list looks pretty healthy and good even with the loss of Dunks. Couple of nice draft picks along with better quality coaching and i reckon we'll be right back up the top end. Outside of a proper gun defender that can intercept i'm not exactly sure what else we need. The jump has got to come in coaching and skills.
Someone on here mentioned it looked like a lot of players were carrying injuries from the late finish the year before. I think there is a lot in that.

If we can get Keath back to good health, add in Jones, McLean to come back in as best 22, Lobb hopefully to take turns in the ruck, and hit the draft hard, I would be happy with that.

After all this list was good enough to make a grand final 12 months ago.

Also I think the midfield might straighten itself out, losing Dunks might not be such a bad thing.

Yeah, I understand it too, but as you say, they have brought some of it on themselves with previous list management decisions. Lots of people could see they probably over-did the list cuts a few years back with older players. But the collective vitriol across the Clarkson and JHF threads - some of those posters need to take a break from their posting for their own good. I had another quick look this morning - for the last time - I can't go back to that stuff, some of it destroys your faith in fellow human beings.

Think you've nailed it with your second paragraph, but don't try and post it on the North board - you'll get eaten alive!

There is nothing - nothing - to be gained by walking him to the PSD. You ruin player relationships, relationships with other clubs, and make players think twice about whether you've got their wellbeing in mind.
If you are being screwed by a club in a trade who is ruining relationships?
We send him to Brisbane for very little then yes nothing is gained by us. We strengthen an almost direct competitor and weaken our side.
It also directly undermines Bevo after his 'pony up' comment and good luck selling extra memberships.

Besides this has already happened with Nick Stevens, Port Power and Collingwood in 2003. Port won the premiership a year later!!!!

I must be the only one who feels that Dunkley is worth more than two picks between 12-20.

I think 12 + 12 would be fair and slightly in our favour.
15 + 15 (future first) would be in Lion's favour but just fair still, and is what they have, so I'd take it.
Nothing worse though and would want a player involved if anything lower.

Taranto for 12 and 19 confirmed

Without any dog goggles on surely these have similar value. Both out of contact. Both rated similar. 15 and future first could make this simple and easy Brisbane...

I'd do Dunkley for just pick 7 plus steak knives or 2 x late firsts (worth about the same) Maybe some other shuffling.

I think 2 x pick 8s ish is fair for JHF if was north. Slightly higher to pick 1 on points (yes, yes, spare me the points don't mean anything in the real world speel but it's a reasonable guide).
