Bellatrix Star sure is interesting. Te Akua are amazing at identifying and outstanding filly/mare and getting them to perform consistently prep after prep - Melody Belle and Imperatriz are 2 of my absolute favourites of the last decade

I'm not sold on this crop of 3YO though. Big ask to hit a massive career peak and then back up against hardened pros like Bella, GK and co 7 days later

Love her but risking her tomorrow.
I ended up backing 2 horses in the sprint, Bellatrix Star obviously.....and Sunshine in Paris (it's been in my black book for 2 years and backed it in the Everest just gone .... today was its day ... the jockey helped).

On another more unfortunate note, Pride of Jenni bled from both nostrils after the Champions Mile and has been retired.

I think the swear filter would go into meltdown if I was asked to describe the owner of that very brave horse.
That prick should never be allowed to own a horse again

For those interested a horse I have an interest in Reddivo is in the first at Moonee Valley tonight. He has won two of his last 3 starts. Last up a convincing win in Echuca on Melbourne Cup day over 3200m. Tonight he is running over 3800m and in a stronger field. It's his last start before the Jericho in a few weeks which is over 4600m.
It will be interesting to see how he goes over this distance and how he handles the course. Here's hoping. Giddy up.

Good luck Turtleman3. Love a stayer and the whole Jericho concept.

Her full sister is in race 6, Something Forjo.

If it was 1612m they probably have the double. Good run home.

I didn't realise the mile at Benalla started with an 800m straight run to the first turn.

I think I'd like to go to that track. Looks in good nick today.

Something Forjo in the next at Seymour R5. Big run last start.

Edit - horrible run today

Money come for it ——- Bulldog bogfooty money 😅

Winner of that race was most impressive but very honest effort for second from your horse. Stays all day.

Anyone having a bet today?

Got a few up last week. This week I like R3 - Little Jack, R6 - Rich Dottie, R10 - Niance, at Newcastle R9 - Naval College.

For those who like to dabble in NZ racing and Sydney autumn futures .... take note.

At Te Aroha today, a 3yr old Prosir filly (yes, another one), came from last, overcame all obstacles like an old pro and got up by a neck at her 2nd start .... after winning her first start by 6 lengths.

This thing is a proper race horse. Hankee Alpha. Black book it.

Other Te Aroha observations is that Mad Max will win at 1400m next start. Tycoon Prince won pretty well, has credentialled owners, is a farking huge horse and might have a future. Eva Magical raced greenly 3 wide on the speed for a game 2nd....wouldn't leave her out next start.

I have a Prosir mare in NZ.
Has her share of ability, but jars up bad and is frustratingly inconsistent.

I am sending to her a beach trainer next prep.
Moira Murdoch, trainer of the 1994 Cox plate winner.🏆
Great story , she bought him for $4,000 .
I think first prize that year had just gone to $1 mil to the winner ?

Solvit raced at the top level for some time against some very good horses. Unfashionably bred but ... winner.
Will your mare be going to the beach at Waiuku?

Yeah, Waiuku.
Our mare is called ROZEL.
Last roll of the dice for her, we have been very patient !
I expect the beach is going to help with her issues.

I read that as Waikiki….pictured Kings horse hanging hoof on a longboard….

I've watched the replay of Hankee Alpha a few times now and it gets better every time. This horse has captured my attention. It's far from unusual for a previously unknown 3yrold to emerge at this time of year in NZ. The talent is there but the maturity not quite and they don't appear in the spring features. But come summer and autumn (often in Aus) they've caught up to those spring 3yr olds and often surpass them.

This one is a big watch. It's 2 from 2, has won in different ways on heavy and good. The Te Aroha effort is text book elite race horse and it ran like a 40 race veteran at its 2nd start. Came from last, across heels, accelerated through every gap, totally responsive to the rider and knew where the line was. Its next start will be over 1400m at Ellerslie on Boxing Day. The only thing that will beat it is the gate not opening.

Mad Max ran home a little greenly in 33.5 from last to get 2nd in the first race. Another 10m and he wins. He'll dine out on 1400m plus also.

For those that follow, is it me scratched from Caulfield the other week due to virus.

Had a good jump out a few days ago and aiming for bm84 1400m Ballarat next weekend.

Seriously due.

Was a pretty good win for it coming from the back at Matamata. Prefers the sting out of the track?
She’s a goldilocks horse, doesn’t seem to handle the heavy, and a firm track jars her.
It was a good win , conditions just right, but half the field were “ walkers”

He's got more horses in training or on agistment than you shake a stick at. Why not one in Waikiki🤣

Have they got a track there ?
Get a Bulldog BF syndicate together and go and win the 2025 Waikiki Cup 🏆
If not , end of season trip !🏝️
I’ll get my shark biscuit out of moth balls 😎

Harold, being a breeding buff, you might like this one.

This Hankee Alpha that I'm banging on about at the moment further piques my interest when I study its pedigree.

A few posts ago I remarked that the family of Atishu, Orchestral and now Savaglee was a family on :fire:. All 3 are from the same family, all are currently racing, all 3 have won at Group 1 level and all three are also heavily influenced by both Savabeel and O'Reilly. All 3 also share the same 4th dam being the Shirley Heights mare Head of the River.

Well guess what? Hankee Alpha's 5th dam is Head of the River. Where she differs from the other 3 is that she has not contested or won a Group 1 yet and she has no Savabeel or O'Reilly influence but does have an interesting double up line to Rolls (which is no bad thing).

What does the future hold for her?

Unfortunately Reddivo has been scratched from today's Jericho Cup. He has a swollen front fetlock sustained from the race at Moonee Valley on the 15th November where he was knocked around a bit. It is disappointing as having a horse in a feature race doesn't happen too often, but his welfare is top priority. He was a good chance too. Certainly running him over 4600 metres wouldn't be ideal in his current state. He will now spend a well earned few months in the paddock.

Such a shame, would've been a big chance. As you say, horse has to come first.

Always look forward to this race. Will be a hell of a slog on a heavy track. My money will be on Mr Lincoln, with a saver on Privileged Son.
