Actually in the box hill electorate, I have to travel outside my electorate for a democracy sausage, the Chinese don’t quite appreciate them, that wouldn’t be so bad if they offered dumplings instead, but nada.
At St Kilda State School, sausage, bread and onions was $4. Inflationary pressure and greed probably account for this inflated figure.

I was going to vote informal, but in the end voted Animal Justice Party, knowing that whichever major party got my second preference would get a full vote (never liked the preferential system where even your last preference can be worth a full vote). For the only time in my life, I effectively voted Liberal by giving them my 2nd preference. I have oil and gas shares in 2 companies which gave me every reason not to vote Green. I will never forgive Daniel Andrews for the interminable lockdowns then the resultant bullshit in the hotel quarantine inquiry, nor have I ever appreciated that Victoria is the highest fining state in Australia. So in effect I decided the time had come to do the only thing within my power to express my dissatisfaction with the state government i.e. Andrews.

I hope that we can all find some closure, and that we can put the years of scrounging for drugs in elevators behind us and love one another again.

Let the votes say what they say.

I traveled to Burwood to vote and grab a sausage, they were $3 there, even if $4 is a little steep, at least it will benefit the kids.

Now that I have found a Thai based health insurance policy that will cover me for a reasonable cost in my 70's, I am selling up and moving to Thailand early next year, so won't be terribly concerned about the Libs making a mess of this state.

An old school mate, the only contact from my school days, had a massive stroke 2 days ago and was placed in an induced coma from which it is already established he will never recover - arrangements are being made for his organs to be removed for donation. He and his wife lost their adult son during covid and couldn't hold a funeral, not even a memorial service for him, thanks to lockdown regulations. Needless to say he was a massive Dan hater. I look after their retriever at Xmas and during the week of their son's birthday because they can't bear to be home during this time. Now his wife and daughter have to bear a double hit. I can't begin to imagine how they feel or will cope.

There are risks in relocating OS at 69 years of age, but this state and its horrendous climate have finally convinced me to get out while I am still healthy enough to start again. The last thing I want is to eke out the final years of life somewhere I don't want to be.

Besides, Thailand is now the Amsterdam of Asia. With marijuana legalised and openly on sale, there will be no need to scrounge around elevators searching for it.

Legal weed in Thailand still shocks me a bit.

Plentiful/cheap meth as well, but no leniency with it, and your insurance might not cover a meth habit.

Excited for you, mate.

Don't see meth much here though. The sentences are to harsh.
Mainly alcohol or weed.

I watched a program which told me that the easy availability of meth had caused authorities to redirect their efforts away from weed, and that this --along with a desire to bring back tourism-- had inspired the legalisation of dope.

Maybe I was lied to. Good thing for Thailand if the TV led me astray.

Voted animal justice yet ate the democracy sausage?
How hypocritical.
Unless it was a plant based sausage, which would account for the inflated pricing.

I wish you all the best with the move to Thailand TGG. I've never met you so I can't explain why I feel such certainty that you'll be happier there.

If I didn't have the anchors of family and business I'd be living on a Greek island.

Not to sell Melbourne short.

Other than the weather and Dan Andrews, it's a beautiful metropolis to live in.

Dunno brother. It just seems to me you don't see it around much.
I'm sure it's here.

In Australia I saw it often.

How long have you been abroad mate?

I assume you're Melbourne born and bred.

Matthew Guy where are you?
Majority government and Libs with a net loss.
This is what happens when you have a Labor government that gets stuff done.
