Imo 194cm is still fine for a KPF with athletic ability.
Curnow is doing it at 193cm, quick, long reach, big leap and mobile.
I'm just not sure Allen plays like a KPF in any case. That would be the harder transition.
What’s his hair like?Is he Edward, Eddie, Ed or Ted? Or Butch - for us older fans?

Mr Ed.Fast Eddie after his combine run.
We had a pot dealer called that when I was young, love itFast Eddie after his combine run.
I've seen 13 year olds with more chin hair. Does that mean they are done growing?Nah, he grew late but he is done. 18 and 6 months now. Images of him playing footy this year is an adult body. Hard to get cms when you can grow a dirty tash.
Physique wise Ed clearly throws to the Mann side of the family. He has the same broad shoulders & height. Some photos of Ed’s dad and Ed’s mums cousin Peter Mann who’s the same height as ed. Sky is the limit so maybe Ed could be the new modern dayAnthony Koutoufides?View attachment 1565662View attachment 1565663

Really instructive the 1st 2 seasons
All the players 20+ games are either very good players or above or project that way. Makes you wince a little more at the Henry loss.
A few of the 10-20, bolded, are either very good or above or project that way
All the 10 and below are good ordinaries at best or 1st to second years who are not yet threatening best 22. If you dont by end of year 2 you are probably not going to end up in the better half of AFL players. (McInnes has an injury * as does Murphy.) If you dont get a game in your 1st season you are probably going to struggle.
So Ed Allen be aiming for an early debut and play at least 20 games in your 1st 2 seasons. Figures suggest if you dont you aint going to become a player to excite us over the next 10 years.
Draft possie pretty irrelevent, more high picks will turn into stars but no matter where you are picked play early and often if you want a substantial career, good players dont wait.
Also augers really well for career of Ginnivan and McCreery
Butch. But with less injuries. Loved Butch as a Pie.Is he Edward, Eddie, Ed or Ted? Or Butch - for us older fans?
Whatever we call him, I like the look of him.
He had well and truly played his best football before he got to us.
Cripps X Dangerfield with Pendlebury disposals I’m expecting.hope he develops into a faster cripps type player
he seams to be good at firing out a creative handball, but nothing special at winning ground balls just yet
And Pavlich like KPP versatilityCripps X Dangerfield with Pendlebury disposals I’m expecting.
Tom Mitchell will teach these guys a thing or two..hope he develops into a faster cripps type player

Best of both Peter Mann + Ben Allen => Peter AllenSorry to intrude but I think you have a very good one here. We all know his dad was a super skilful gun before he was struck down early with a knee injury that eventually forced him to retire at 28 (didn’t really train in his last 2-3 years). But his mother is a Mann, cousin of Peter who played for NM and Captained the Dockers. That is where he gets his height from (Peter was also 194cm). Ed is excellent on both feet and if he can combine the traits of Peter Mann (who was very agile for his size) and the skills of Ben Allan you will have a player who can play in any position on the ground. Also if he takes after his old man, he won’t die wondering. Would have loved to see him in purple, but now Collingwood is my second team.

Cheers for the info. Is Peter any relation to premiership magpie Neil Mann? But his mother is a Mann, cousin of Peter who played for NM and Captained the Dockers. That is where he gets his height from (Peter was also 194cm).

No aspersions cast here, but have a look at the legs on the bloke! Standing next to Richards and Ryan, Allen has the skinniest thighs in the world, unbelievable for a big boy with that frame. He has skinnier legs than a small framed 176cm Richards!
Hopefully he is a very late bloomer and he starts to pack on some muscle on that frame if he is to turn into a big bodied midfielder.
If you look at the players people are projecting his cieling for, they all have big powerful legs and strong through the hips so they can run through tackles and break tags (Cripps, Bont, Judd, even degoey etc.)
Being quick off the mark doesn't mean as much in an AFL midfield when you are being held and blocked at the contest. You need to have the power to go with it to overwhelm your opponent and leave them behind.
If he adds kgs to his frame but in proportion to his current build, he will project more as a winger/outside midfielder, power through the legs and lower body is not as important for outside midfielders.
