Loved to hear more about this and photos
Was back in the mid to late 90s. The photos are Polaroids!
Took in tons of sporting stadiums and events ( inc the Atlanta Olympics) as well as islands and resorts worldwide
Lived in London Belfast Vancouver Santorini Honolulu and Daytona Beach for extended times.
Best thing I ever did.
PS … Wrigley Field Chicago is my favorite sporting arena anywhere 🐻

Allocate a whole day.
The bars around wrigleyville where the stadium is located are some of the best I’ve been too.
I still haven’t been up to the rooftops where the bars have stands erected on top that are full scale parties while watching the game from a Birds Eye view

I was there 20 years ago and it was banging then. Worked in a bar in Thira was awesome. Made great lifelong friends from those days.
The beaches and sunsets were special.
Each to their own but I can’t imagine how anyone couldn’t enjoy it unless it’s changed dramatically

I'v been twice to Chicago but never actually in Wrigley Field.

I was there the week they made the world series so they were not doing any stadium tours but it was nice to walk around the stadium as they were preparing everything for the world series.

Besides that one picture that everyone takes its pretty bloody boring imo

The winery had some of the shittest wines I have ever drank and looking out over a black rock isn't my thing and the beaches are pretty poor

But look having said that, I'm not much of a sit down and relax person when I'm on holidays unless its for a few days in the middle of a big 6-8 week trip.

Kefalonia on the other hand was pretty magical but much bigger and much more to explore

The city went beserk for 2 weeks when they made it. Would have been a fantastic time to be there

The best time to be there would have been when everyone was trying to find Steve Bartman to kill him

Fair enough and I guess in context I was 22 working in a fun bar full of happy people on holidays in the warmth surrounded by young other carefree friends. We had motorcycles and knew where the better beaches where after a while.

That Bartman photo could be like a famous painting from the dark ages depicting an historical moment...the array of reactions from the fans....

The worst part of that for Bartman, he coped all the blame and didnt even get the ball, the guy next to him did off the fumble, sold it for 114k at auction in 2003.

Bartman turned down hundreds of thousands of dollars a number of times over the years ... Super Bowl commercial, signed photo, etc

Changed his name to a similar sounding psydenm and worked from home under a special arrangement. Even when he went back he worked odd hours to throw off media and the pitchfork brigade. Watching him taken to a safe room at wrigley that night by security staff was horrific stuff and I’m a Cubs die hard fan

A lawyer who on sold it and the ball got publicly detonated and destroyed after we won the World Series and the curse was broken 🐻

So what's the consensus on best time to buy tickets? I know it depends on luck but am I better off for the most part waiting until a few days out for the game? Or does it depend on the game?

I'm going to Chiefs @ Packers, should I buy soon, or should I wait to see how everything pans out?
I'm probably heading to the blockbuster of Bucs at Indy, should I wait until day of or night before to try and snag a really good ticket quite cheaply?

Thanks

I've got a big schedule of US sports coming up, my strategy was snap up tickets to my main events (2x Cowboys games and a Red Wings game) early to secure a good experience, and leave the rest of the events up to near game day to try get a good cheap seat.

Great itinerary but the Blackhawks game in Chicago has me super jelly.
One I still have to see for myself
